MrsWajs you're back! Lovely whiney thread that doesn't take an age to load on my phone!

Happy birthday Mary! I bought B a wooden activity cube not an ELC one but similar, some clothes and books. I fear for what my parents have bought as mum seems to be out every day picking something else up! My sister is getting him some cars as that's what his favs thing is at the cm.

I have a feeling we mat need an extension to house everything!!

As far as presents go, we've given M £40 :)
She had a ride-on (pink) truck to open that we won in a Christmas raffle.
And a doll that I bought for her from ELC with some Christmas vouchers she had left. So not really any 'real' presents from us.

She loves cars too, especially holding 2 in one hand as she sees DS2 doing that all the time - he gets a bit clingy with some toys and clutches them to his chest whilst doing other stuff. So she thinks that's how you carry them :)

Had a nice playgroup this morning - they sing happy birthday with a candle & give out a toy so M was happy. Then went out for lunch with DH (who's working a short day from home today).
She's having a well-earned birthday nap, i've got baking in the oven :)

Hello to all Aprilites Smile. Happy Birthdays' to all April babies that have turned one - Freda will be one next Sunday. I was CountScoutula and not a very prolific poster, I'm afraid - I can never keep up with you all Grin.

Freda's not yet walking and only just beginning to pull up, so I think it'll be a while before we need to think about buying shoes! I'm still BFing 3 - 4 times a day - I'm thinking about stopping soon Sad as I'm 9 weeks pregnant and would quite like a break before the relentless newborn feeding begins sometime in November... Do any of you have any experience of BFing during pregnancy and best ways to wean? I'm not sure exactly when I'll start this, although my boobs are starting to feel quite sore when she feeds now.

I had a pretty horrific labour (seizures and aphasia) and very slow recovery (breakdown of episiotomy) with Freda, so my lovely cmw (who I also had last time) is very supportive of my request for a elcs -phew! Any lovely elcs tales would be appreciated!

Anyway, I hope you are all well. I'll try to check occasionally - promise Smile.

Spoutlet - hello & congratulations on pg 2 :)
I have read lots of threads on here about good ELCS experiences. I had a c-s with DS2 (undiagnosed breech so was in labour so sort of emergency but baby wasn't in distress) and although i'm all for natural birth wit a bit of g&a at home, it was fine :)
I healed absolutely fine, in fact i looked for my scar the other day and it's hardly visible :)
it's frustrating not being able to pick up DC1, but you get used to getting down to their level instead - and at the end of pg you aren't up to lifting them much anyway - and it doesn't last long, those few weeks recovery, i was driving at 4 weeks and felt fine.

I only BF DS1 for about a week after I knew I was pg with DS2 - i intended to stop anyway about then - so no real advice but whatever you do, wean slowly!
Even down to 1 feed a day i still got engorged when i stopped both times.

I'm still BF about 3 or 4 times a day too, kind of looking forward to DD stopping but no rush to make her Confused :)

spoutlet we're going for round 2 and I plan to BF all the way through and tandem BF so no advice! I may change my mind though Wink

We had a lovely birthday yesterday, although it rained on his picnic. Today I feel sort of down because I feel so very far from home Sad

Hello spoutlet

Congrats!! I'm pg with dc2 too, due in sept and also having an elcs. No advice on feeding as I stopped at 5 months. I had emergency cs with s and recovered and healed quickly

Report
Spoutlet · 22/04/2012 20:44

Thanks, JKS, and it's good to know that your cs experience wasn't too bad. BF-wise, I thought I'd maybe drop a feed per week and see how it goes. I shall be so sad when Freda has her last feed though - I'll really miss the closeness of BFing her. When she's finished feeding at bedtime, she waves and says bye bye before sticking her fingers in her mouth and closing her eyes Grin.

Fraktal, I seriously thought about tandem feeding, but I think feeding one's enough for me! Good luck with round 2, also Smile. Sorry that you're feeling down - Thanks.
