Our lovely new thread for the September 2010 babies. Dive in folks!

cinnamongreyhound Sat 27-Apr-13 19:26:24

Think it hits a bit later with boys, dss is almost 12 and still mostly no trouble!

Sorry to hear about your jeans, hopefully once you've moved and dp's job settles down you can get back to the gym. MFP is worth a look for monitoring calories, I love it. Gives you an idea of what you should be eating and what you are eating smile

Had a lovely day with ds1, had sausage, chips and beans for tea as his choice and watching Star Wars clone wars now! Had my three plus 6 (4 didn't turn up) for a couple of hours and my mum came over too. He's been very lucky and more pressies and pizza to come tomorrow!

Hey all!!! What a crazy week!! For some reason things seem to be getting out of hand. It's so hard trying to juggle work, school, nursery, house work, being a mummy and being a wife! I won't waffle on and bore you all but I'm on antibiotics, ollys got a fissure, dh and I had a mahoosive row, my ironing pile got as tall as the house and the house is a tip!!!

It'll all sort out but it's just one of those weeks where it all goes wrong!!!!

SilverBirdie Mon 29-Apr-13 21:21:33

So sorry lumps sad
Really hope things get a bit less crazy for you soon. flowers

I am stacked with work and doubt I'll have any time without Jack this week as had a fall out with dm sad
Seems like its gonna be one of those silly ones that nobody sorts out for a while sad so feeling knackered, overworked and stressed with Jack at mo. feel your pain and I only have one for now.

Question re: babies...... What do they wear in the summer?? I mean newborn girls of course. Folk are saying we're in for a hot one this year so am wondering what the done thing re: layers is. Vest, babygro and another layer? Still need cotton hats etc??
I feel like I've forgotten everything and am so unorganised

Help me Oh lovely September mums thanks

sassy34264 Mon 29-Apr-13 21:51:14

Sorry to lumpy and beady for the shittiness at the moment. hugs.

I had extremely cute baby grows that had short arms and legs for summer beady
I was always lead to believe that newborns should only have 1 more layer on than what the rest of us need. I would probably do vest, summer baby grow, and a cotton hat- on really hot days, and perhaps a cardigan and some socks on warm days. As well as suncream. (i'm organised this year and bought mine already)

My best tip for checking temp is to check the folds of the neck. If they are clamy then they have too many layers on. smile

sassy34264 Mon 29-Apr-13 21:53:19

some cute ones here

sassy34264 Mon 29-Apr-13 21:59:11

i adore this one

Gonna stop now and go to bed, before i get broody!

cinnamongreyhound Mon 29-Apr-13 22:08:42

I would go with just a vest if it's very hot or even just a nappy! I tended to keep mine out of the sun but if you're walking and there's no way to shade them, you will need a hat. They'll be lovely cotton girly bits in all the shops soon I'm sure envy at shopping!

cinnamongreyhound Mon 29-Apr-13 22:14:29

Sorry x-posts!

I call those romper suits, had them for ds1 but didn't really for Luke not sure why!

Should have said hope things sort themselves out with you mum. Was talking to a friend of mine this morning and she was very upset as her sister isn't talking to her. She did call her niece a spoilt brat but then she has been totally ignoring my friends dd who totally idolises her cousin sad

lumpylumps, your life always sounds hectic I guess something has to give sometimes x

lumpylumps Tue 30-Apr-13 16:28:11

Thanks for the flowers beady here, I think you could do with some too flowers and have one of these too wine oops!! Not allowed. Never mind, I'll have yours [Grin]

I had romper suits for mine too. Love them. I know they're both August babies but that's what friends have used to. Although one friend had some gorgeous t shirt material dresses with built in vest bottom bits. I think they were from next or motherboard.

SilverBirdie Tue 30-Apr-13 21:20:16

Ah thanks folks.... Felt inspired so drove for ages with J asleep in the car this aft and went to buy these and some similar pink ones.
sassy love that pink one you linked to! grin

Well, I finally shifted the snots and sinusitis with antibiotics, been fine for about a week and way hey the snots are back. Talk about a 9 month cold sad
And still no word from my DM sad
Blurgh..... Don't I moan?!!

Not sure what to do with the wee man tmrw..... Wednesday is nursery day for all his usual companions. Hope the sun is shining smile

Bought a cotton hat too but now remember that nothing in the first sizes ever fit Jack. O-3 does look insanely small.

Can't remember if I updated on here about having gone through my notes...... Anyway finally did with midwife last week and all things point to another csec. Feel really despondent about it but think I'm realising its the safest option sad
Can't imagine not being able to drive for so long though... jack and I do so much

cinnamongreyhound Fri 03-May-13 23:57:02

What is the reason for another cs? Are they pushing you towards it or just that they think it will be necessary?

SilverBirdie Sat 04-May-13 09:15:41

No cinnamon they're not pushing but the consultant and the mws all seem to be trying to suggest it'd be best. I get the feeling they can't actually say either way as the info in my notes from the surgeon weren't followed up by an X-ray before I fell pregnant again.
Three issues really: 1:I have Cephlopelvic Disproportion, 2: a really tilted cervix and 3: a baby already measuring 3-4 weeks over size.
All things considered I think csec is the safest option but am dreading not driving for weeks etc as J and I do so much together.
Also worried about not being in a fit state to bf successfully but I think my hours and hours of labour before csec contributed to that too. Hoping it'll be easy this time.
It seems to be creeping up so quickly...... If I go for csec it will probably be next month! shock
Still not heard from my DM. I know they're having lunch with my sister tomorrow so no doubt my ears will burn.
Edith is still top of our names list. I know I'll have to prepare myself for some brutal reactions grin

cinnamongreyhound Sat 04-May-13 10:35:13

You have to do what you feel is best, I don't have loads of experience and I am pro natural delivery just because I believe it makes everything easier but no one knows what the outcome will be. My friend had a 44hr labour followed by ecs with her first who was almost 10lb and with the second she had scans that said he would be huge so she went for an elcs and he was 8lb 4. I know its bigger than average but still not the giant thy were expecting. On the bf front my friend who just had her baby early had natural delivery with her first and emcs with the one she just had and hasnt found bf any harder. I think because he was early they gave her a lot of support both times and that's the key imo.

It's so hard, I said I didn't want to be induced again but when it came to it I did what was advised. I was lucky it wasn't as long as with ds1 and I had an experienced midwife to spot my dodgy cervix. But who knows if I'd waited it could have been impossible to deliver him as he was already 9lb 2 at 13 days over or I could have had a lovely intervention free birth as I wanted!

SilverBirdie Sat 04-May-13 13:35:42

The weight of a baby doesn't bother me.... but the likelihood of one that's not so small and a pelvis that's apparently not big enough to birth a baby at all seems to suggest just the one option of delivery. I'm a little annoyed that given the wording on my notes from the surgeon, a follow up appt with a consultant wasn't arranged to discuss any future deliveries. Bit late now but that's the way it goes up here with our hospital appts!
I think there were lots of contributing factors to me not establishing bf with J like I would have hoped, including his neck stiffness, my comatose, horizontal bed bound state etc etc Hopefully this time around will be a different story smile
Jack was overdue too so if we do go csec she'll be born around three weeks earlier than he was so doubt she'll reach his length or weight anyway.

lumps will post jewellery to you on Tuesday hopefully. bank hol slows everything down with Post Offices shut on Monday. Hope you're ok sweets xx

cinnamongreyhound Sat 04-May-13 14:28:41

So the x-ray was to decide if your pelvis was large enough to birth a baby full stop? Big or small? Sorry they have been so rubbish yet again sad

cinnamongreyhound Tue 07-May-13 21:53:08

Oh my goodness Luke has been such a little sod today! Don't know if the heat doesn't agree with him or it was not enough sleep over the last few days but I really was glad when he went to bed!!

sassy34264 Fri 10-May-13 15:05:23

cinnamon yes, jacob has those days too. Groan.

I'm off to a spa tomorrow for a body, facial and scalp massage. I'm soooo looking forward to it. Going to use their pool and gym too.

Heaven and bliss. grin

SilverBirdie Fri 10-May-13 16:27:51

sassy do they pull all the cots over themselves? shock
What fun they're all going to have growing up and so close in age smile

Spa....... Jealous face! I am eagerly counting down the days until we go to Centre Parcs a week on Monday though. Also heaven.

J got an awful sickness bug. On sofa still snoozing it all off after. So far 2.5 hours. Bless.... Started at midnight then sprayed my car all over! Cue huge clean up mission. Gross.

So, my sister found out today she also expecting pink. grin she's in love with the name we want for a middle name........ Do I let it go or use it anyway. I don't think it will put her off but it prob will once our little bundle is here and named. It's Alice by the way so for obvious reasons would like to use it..... confused

Can too many tomatoes make you sick??

sassy34264 Fri 10-May-13 20:02:39

Yes. There was only them 3 in the room. I suspect it's jacob pulling them all over.

Sorry J is ill. Hope he is better soon.

Jacob's middle name is my sil's ds's first name. I don't think it's a problem.

She wanted to call him Lewis 1st and then changed it to James and then eventually to Simon, this was all before he was born.

When he was born she called him Simon James. and this is on his birth certificate.

So dp said to me, after she went with simon, i really like James. So we had jacob and james as our 2 boys names (if the twins were both boys) and i told my mil. Whether she told sil, i don't know, but next minute Simon was now going to be known as James. (he still is) dp said he doesn't care and they will be called jacob and james if they are boys. So i agreed.

As it was only 1 boy, we decided to call him Jacob james. It is dp's middle name, my dads 1st name and dp's grandads name, so it is quite a family name. grin

sassy34264 Fri 10-May-13 20:04:23

i think too many of anything can make you sick.

cinnamongreyhound Fri 10-May-13 21:26:47

Sorry to hear jack is poorly, we are very lucky with sickness bugs (touch wood!). I think using someone's first name choice as a middle name isn't a problem at all.

My friend is visiting tomorrow with her little Barney bundle smile

cinnamongreyhound Tue 14-May-13 21:12:09

Luke was very jealous of baby Barney! Told me to give him back sad

SilverBirdie Thu 16-May-13 07:21:15

cinnamon Jack gets hugely jealous whenever I'm holding a baby too. I'm hoping that the 24/7 of his sister will help him get used to it quickly.
I think he's having a growth spurt as actually devouring food at the mo which is very unlike him. I think it must have been a bowl full of Tomberries at Gran's house that made him sick as nobody else fell ill. I guess its not unlikely given that he has had a food allergy before.

Bump is getting huge now but so far I feel good. I remember relying on my hump support by now with J so hoping she's not so big! No decision yet on elcs or vbac.... Really don't want a elcs but....... Maybe she fan come early and take the decision away from us. At Centre Parcs all next week so who knows what some pedaling around forests might do grin

My nesting urges have kicked in and I'm addicted to smelling wet towels shock

Hope everyone is well.... Very quiet here lately xx

SilverBirdie Thu 16-May-13 07:28:20

That would be bump support!
