A new thread already, I think we must be as chatty as the babies.

After Seth's epic feeding day yesterday/Monday, he finally finished feeding at 1:30 this morning. He then slept till 7:30, his longest stretch yet. I woke at 7 though panicking if he was okay. :o I was still shattered though, so after getting DD all ready for her school Christmas party & trip to the panto we went back to bed again. He's had a much more normal day today thankfully.

DD is missing her last day of school tomorrow, MIL is taking her to see a performance of The Snowman. She bought tickets without asking us presuming DD would have broken up. I ummed & ahhed about letting her go. MIL has a habit of arranging our lives at times so I wanted to make a bit of a point so she might not do it again (for a while.) There's no big activities in school tomorrow so she won't be missing anything in particular, and she'll Love the show. It also means we have a day to get the house cleaned, do some baking and wrap the rest of the presents, before we start our round of visiting relatives.

Thanks for new thread groovy!

Cheshire how is DD today? Hope snot is going away.

cheeky, I am having the same problem with DD and possible silent reflux. Gaviscon appeared to help but my instincts are telling me that reflux isn't actually the problem. I've stopped the gaviscon and so far she has been mostly ok. I have a very fast let down which can cause a lot of the same symptoms I believe so going to work on that.

Lovely stretch of sleep bilblio. We have had a few good nights now, sure it won't last though.

DD had jabs yesterday and thankfully she is fine so far. I on the other hand have a splitting headache which I just can't shake.

Drama in our village tonight, one of the houses across the green from us was on fire. So horrible to see somebodys home going up in flames. Xmas Sad

Gutted thought I was going to sleep earlier but no such luck. DP had Eli downstairs but brought him up hungry, then he tried to settle him afterwards but couldn't so gave him back to me and is now fast asleep Envy.
Mrsp horrible about your neighbours house how awful I hope no one is hurt.

Ah here you are!

Things are good here, although A is going through an exceptionally drooly phase. It's quite cute. He's also discovered how to put things in his mouth, which is funny to watch but we are having to start the first phase of making sure certain things are out of his reach.

Mrs a housefire, how awful.

My stepsister was induced today for her wee girl, so I am waiting to hear how that's all going!

Hi all not been on for a while as ds has been really poorly, and still is I panicked last night and took him to childrens hospital A&E Blush in my defence his temp got so high that he was delirious and shaking!!
His wee eyes and nose are covered in gunk!! And he's been constantly whimpering for past 2-3days luckily it's just a really bad viral infection hopefully it clears before Santa comes Sad

Thanks groovy for new thread
so sad about ur neighbours house mrsp terrible thing at this time of year.
awen congrats on the great sleep, M has started sleeping from 11.30pm to around 6am Grin I am afraid tho that this could be because she has a touch of what ds has and might not last.
Sorry penqun about ur door did make mr giggle though it's exactly the kind of thing I do all the time.

Oo, brand new thread - excellent.

How awful about the fire. do they know what started it? I worry about our tree lights at this time of year.

Seb becoming quite hard to feed sometimes; quite fussy. Never did see that 6-8 wek growth spurt (he's 8 weeks exactly at 11am today!), but its hard with ffing as sometimes he'll look show signs of being hungry and by the time i've get bottle he's asleep or only has a little and goes to sleep. He still only wakes twice in the night for feeding.

He's got a bad case of cradle cap, I've been leaving it or just brushing after his bath but any other suggestions?

Few last things to get for xmas today and we're done! Oh, and need some choc for the fudge!!! Xmas Grin

How awful to have a fire Sad. It has just reminded me that our smoke alarms were disabled a few weeks ago and I forgot to reconnect. Now have done.
Sorry to hear about a and e trip Edward, hope you are all recovering from the scare. It is so scary when they are ill and so small.

MrsP - I think you may be right about fast letdown/wind being the issue for us not reflux. She got worse again when she started stretching out further between feeds (and hence my boobs were fuller) and sometimes feeds don't bother her at all, which wouldn't be the case with reflux. What are you trying to improve things?

Thanks for reassurances about the feeding to sleep - am trying from today to go with the flow more, let her sleep on me and hold her a bit more and we've had a much better day. Though am still trying to get her to settle now, after wind woke her again. Sad
Where is a large glass of wine when you need one?!

Oh my we just had a shock. Elijah's Moses basket is raised at the head end so he sleeps better and we just got woken up to a thud as it fell over. He must have slid to the bottom and somehow overbalanced it. He ended up in a heap and we can't figure out if he hit his head against our bed (has iron base).
He screamed but is fine now (eating away) and has no marks anywhere so we think it was just the shock. SadSadSad horrible i feel like such a bad mummy.

Oh pebble poor thing, I'm sure he will be fine...they are surprisingly sturdy little things really Wink Dont feel bad, these things happen, if it makes you feel any better I bashed little B's head on the car door when putting him into his car seat when he was about 3wks old. Blush Someone once told me that if they cry then they are usually fine...it's when there is no reaction that you need to worry!

Oh no!! M has been sick twice since 10 am, really hoping it's just wind and not what ds has. OTOH think I'm getting what ds has throat feels like I'm breathing razor blades and apparently ur not meant to even have strepsils when BFing :-0

MrsHende · 23/12/2011 11:47

What a fright you must have got Pebble! I'm sure you're more upset than your LO is though.

Sounds sore Edward - my GP told me you can take paracetamol while BF, that might help a bit?

We're all packed up, ready to hit the road to go to my mum's for Christmas and the car's broken!! Yesterday was supposed to be my first drive after the section and when I tried to set off the engine wouldn't start. Got the breakdown people out but they couldn't start it either. It's been towed to a garage this morning so please keep your fingers crossed that it just needs new spark plugs or we're stuck!

Someone needs to post a happy message! Head bumps, sore throats and broken down cars are not very cheery or festive! Grin

I can't help with the happy messages - DD1 managed to stand on L's head earlier this week when L was having a little kick on the mat. DH saw it and it was an accident but really shook us and I worried about L all day. It wasn't hard (her foot caught the side and slipped off) but obviously L was super upset and we had to give DD1 a stern talking to about being more careful.

And L has been sleeping through but last night woke up at 2am for a feed. Which would be fine except that we had been out for the evening and I had a few glasses of wine so couldn't feed her. Typical! Poor DH had to go and get a bottle ready for her.

scones I guess that answers your question. Also my MIL stayed over last Friday and looked after the DC and we went out and stayed overnight at hers. So yes, I did indulge in a few drinks. And another few last night. Am not a huge drinker though so always fine next morning.

edwardoreric it's just one thing after another Sad Hope you're all well soon.

Is your car fixed mrsH?

Pebble, what a shock for you. Just use your 'mother's instinct' and if he seems different than err on the side of caution and get some advice. but it sounds like he's OK.

Edward what about honey and lemon in hot water? When I had a cold when pg that is what was recommended. It does help a bit. Or ask the pharmacist.

MrsH fingers crossed it's spark plugs or battery or something simple.

Fleecy I'm sure it was just shock too with L.

Humm, happy messages.....Dh has finished for christmas and now we have a whole 10 days of the three of us Smile.

Edward - are u still bfing? If so just keep her close to breast and let her nurse whenever. Might be worth cosleeping tonight (if u don't already) and letting her have free access.

Bugs here too. Ds2 threw up at dinner table been poorly past 3 days with fever and bad cold. He's now d&v. This Jessica starting to get it now. Sad

Yeah still BFing, think I'll have to cosleep, she's feeding now but ATM it's basically a constant cycle of feed and throw up and back again, haven't seen poor ds all evening (and he's still ill so needs me too) Sad I've now decided that Xmas is cancelled in my house!

Edward, know what u mean. Dh and ds1 looked after ds2 majority of the day. Breastmilk is the best thing and will help
her get better sooner. Sounds like a long night for you ahead. Hope that they get better soon. We've been staying home. done food shop and he's doing Christmas present deliverys now. Hoping ds2 better soon as not only Christmas but his birthday too.
