Blush I daftly thought I was posting on this thread, as I had them both open in different tabs. Posted a hello and update post on the old thread. Doh!

HKZ, I will post cake pics when I can persuade ds to mail them to me (they're on his laptop at the moment and he's mid second interview presentation planning).

Ahh so lovely to hear from you Moose, read your posts on the old thread. Can't add more than HKZ but I would love to see some cake piccies too Smile

Off to bed now in the hope that no matter what the night brings I'll cope better with it

Tea, hope you get a better night. We started putting DD to bed at 6.15 two weeks ago and she still sleeps til 5.20 (we tried putting bedtime back until 8 and it was a still a 5.20 start). Find the whole thing odd, but she has been a different child since getting 11 hours sleep a night. And hopefully when the clocks go forward we just put her to bed at 7.15 and she'll wake up at 6.20. Shock

120, I posted on the last 09 thread by mistake, thinking I was posting on this one! Blush

Well done on the bedtime thing - ds2 is vile if he doesn't get enough sleep. He goes to bed at 7.00 and would sleep till lunchtime the next day if we'd let him - he's allergic to mornings, like his Mum bless 'im.

Ds1 on the other hand never sleeps - he's awake half the night then still up before 6.00. We've had to ban him from getting up and make him read with a booklight in his bed or he wakes the whole family at 5.30 every morning. He was great when he was little, slept 6.30 pm to 7.30 am every night no trouble - he's making up for it now though.

They are obviously not a good combination seeing as they share a bedroom. Hmm

Tea, you are probably in bed now, but hope you have an uneventful night - in the nicest possible way of course. Grin

Oooo 120 that's an early start. DD1 is a monster with less than 12 hrs, dd2 is too but she heads off for a nice nap about 11-12. That can be 20 min to 2.5 hrs depending.

Moose - glad to hear your ds1 has more plans in progress now, and that the marvellous ed psych came through for you. Great stuff. Round one to you, next round ding ding!
Hope your wee man feels better soon though, could he have the same ME typie thingie? Any of the other symptoms?

Am uploading to fb, I use it as an album now almost. I love looking through my own and everyone else's photo's.

That's what worries me Tree. He suddenly developed eczema behind his knees last week, despite never having had it before and no-one else in our immediate family having it. I asked the doc about it and he said its probably an atopic reaction to something - most likely autoimmune. He asked about mine and dh's medical history and then said - in that case, more than likely it is autoimmune. Sad

Poor kid - who'd want to inherit my genes!

Dd tried to give up her nap a couple of weeks ago! Shock That's when I discovered that despite seeming evidence to the contrary, my willpower is actually stronger than hers. Grin There's no way I could do without my bit of peace before the school run and homework nightmare every day.

Report
treedelivery · 15/03/2011 22:04

Oh this autoimmune business sucks doesn't it. It isn't your, or mine, or anyone's fault though. Although I know that doesn't make you feel any better, so I won't say don't feel bad. I'll just say 'I hear ya'

Yay for prolonging the nap. When H drops her nap I will need a live in nanny!

Thanks tree.

To be fair, I was inspired by some great cakes I found on the internet though and a really great little book called 'zombie cupcakes' that I bought just for the occasion. Wink

Waves to Moose! Glad to see you are back.

Not such a great day here. Had a fight with DH about my not wanting to apply for a job that was forwarded to me by my prof friend. These men seem to think that I can be a Collections Co-ordinator for the university's art gallery and not take maternity leave. The job starts April 1. I'm due end of May. I don't have a single qualification that is required outside of being able to curate a show and quite frankly, its a whole different ball game hanging your own show then one that is a collection of a major institution. I don't know what the collections software is, nor can I use environmental monitoring equipment and certainly do not have a minimum of 2 experience dealing with a collection in the capacity they are looking for. DH says I am being negative. I say I am being realistic and practical. Even if it is only 20 hours a week, he seems to forget what those first few months were like on me, probably because he works 12 hour days, which is normal for him so didn't really see what it was I did through the day. Not to mention, this time I will have a toddler to deal with. He says we can work around it but I say, 1; where is he going to magically conjure up 20 hours for me to go to work, which leads to 2; he doesn't much time for DD and I as it is with his own work schedule right now, which will increase dramatically after the summer with the new places opening, what makes him think that he will when NB comes and 3; if we can work around it, then we can work around me getting my artwork done or me being able to go into the city by myself or Vancouver to see some art shows to write about, and we can't do that. Right at the end of the job posting it says in bold letters that although the university invites external applications for this posting, an internal pool has already been inferred for the job, which means to me, we are legally obligated to publicly post this position, but its already been filled internally... so... I think I am being practical. He also seems to think I'll be sitting around talking art with adults all day but I can tell you, that isn't the type of job it is. Someone will ring up and say 'Can I borrow that Emily Carr' and I'll say 'Yes/No...' Anyhow, Emily Carr is an overrated Canadian icon anyhow, and I don't care for her work, which is something that is almost taboo to say in Canada. Grin Anyhow, just a bit of a rant.

I'm off to bed. DD was a moody cow today too. Probably just picking up on my vibes. Dance class in the morning... did I mention I hate chasing butterflies... Grin

love the cakes Moosey.

GA, I'd be flattered by the fact that they think you can do the job and then sweetly remind them of all you as a mom to support Mr GA in his job. Oh, and the fact that you are busy making a baby on the side.

gosh it's quiet on here today! sorry to hear about all the eczema around. H gets very dry skin in the folds if we don't dry him well after the bath, but other than that, and sinced I've switched to only using Nivea (he got acne from any other products I use!), all is well. I even use Nivea to tame my hair with since my stylist suggested it!

Am very very very cross today with lots of things. Still waiting to exchange on the house, been shat on at work (obv not literally), had a family member forward a very critical mail about my painting (from what sounds like someone who'd call herself a 'professional), the nursery closes at the end of this month and the stupid new nursery still finds itself unable to tell us whether we have a place in July, so I have no way to decide what to do in terms of child care, be it for two months or a year and a half. And, more annoyingly, DP seems to be taking it all in his stride and sees no need to get worked up about any of this. Aggghhh!!

cross cross cross. and breathe.

on the upside I have a girls' night out tonight and no work tomorrow morning. Smile

and the orders for baby massage posters seem to be incrementing in line with the sure start centres closing/losing budgets for classes. a very small silver lining, I suppose.
