Happy Noooooooooo Year gin tarts!!!!

May 2011 be a blinder for us all. May I win the lottery and never return to work.

We went to a preggo pals place to see in 2011. MB was calpol'd up as he was not happy following his jabs. The little tiger slept the whole night. Til we got home - cue screaming! Fed and changed him and all three of us were out for the count til 730am tho I didn't put him down til gone 2am.

We watched Jools. Anyone else think Kylie has had "work"?

Hope everyone had a good evening!

Hehe, love the opener Alps. Just read it out to TG and he snorted his coffee out through his nose. Grin

Happy new year FESHies! I spent the evening bouncing, tweaking, drinking port, eating christmas cake, stinking of bloody clary sage oil and watching House. STILL no baybee news but I am still having a bit of a show since the stretch and sweeps. Yes, plural - I had one on Weds and one on Fri. Cervix v soft but still closed, bah. Still, midwife did not make any further appts as she feels baybee will appear soon enough. I bloody hope so - I am booked for induction on Thursday. Eek.

I think Kylie has been open about having botox hasn't she? I suspect there is more but she is not admitting.... She probably has all the fat sucked out of her arse and pumped into her face. Wink

Happy New Year you old tarts. This is the year that I plan to lose 2 stone (yeah right!)

Feeling somewhat ropey today. Got back home from friends this morning about 11 and promptly chucked up due to the excesses of last night. I daren't mutter the words but I think feeding Peppa at 4am and then at 7.30 was not sure a great idea. I had taken some expressed milk but couldn't be arsed to go downstairs and sort it. Mini Okes woke up about 11.30pm (what a surprise there) and ended up downstairs joining the frivolities with our mates until about 2.30am as there was no way he was going back to sleep. He still wouldn't go to sleep unless I was in the room with him (but being quite sweet about it and not being hysterical) so I bailed out and went to bed then which in hindsight limited the damage a bit.

Alps it all sounds a bit fucking shit. Do you care to elaborate? And BTW isn't it your testing day? Do we have another Bear

I have eaten a KFC and we have back to back Peppa Pig on so feel ok now. KIds TV isn't usually on in our house until after 5.30 but I don't plan on carrying on how I have started the new year, today is a special exception!

'Ello, FESHes. I have lurgy (flu, possibly of the pig variety.) I am NEVER ill, but have been in bed for 36 hrs now and am getting bored. I am ill every New Year, more or less, and it isn't fair. LG has lurgy too, but the doctors don't seem to be taking us seriously about it as he has seen 2 docs, and broken off his pitiful shrill wailing to grin and gurn at each of them. Hey ho. We both seem to be getting better slowly, the temperature bit has passed now and we are just left with the banging headaches and hacking coughs. I speak for both of us, although clearly I don't know exactly what is bothering LG the most.

Anyway.

Moo, bits sound sore. Add some lavender oil to the bath too, and tell MrMoo it is VITAL for his future sex life that he allows you time to repair your bits. Honestly, 15 mins twice a day is not a lot to ask. There is a reason human babies have 2 parents.... Btw, I emptied a full bottle of tea tree oil and lavender oil into my baths over the course of 2 weeks. My MW recommended putting about 10 drops of each into a spoonful of milk and then into the bath to help the oils disperse. I had a second and a third degree tear, and both healed really well - I am sure the regular bathing helped. I also got a little spray bottle and put fresh oils in it along with clean cold water each day and used it to spray down there after each visit to the loo before dabbing dry. So my bits were well doused with lavender and tea tree oils! Hope you get it sorted out soon.

It is so lame! Far enough do a SIDS storyline but baby swapping FFS! I can't imagine when losing a baby you would want any other baby than your own. I am clearly getting too into it.

Can't watch 'Enders of any of the soaps. Bags o' shite so they are.

okie Droid turned up days early and was very short (not implantation!) - princessboo says this is something to do with the weird moons last month. But personally I think her woo stole my baybee! Wink

I haven't watched EE in years - recognise hardly any of the characters now - but am still confused as to why women still throw themselves at Fiwl Michuuwl. Confused I've read about, but couldn't bear to watch the SIDS thing. I don't think I will ever stop worrying about that. With all the stress right now that's my fear, that the cherry on top will be that he won't wake up. :(

silv I've had work. I had the fat sucked out of others and injected in to my arse. [wobble]

ello all happy new year!

We had stressful christmas at MILs, the boy had a cold, we had taken no calpol (that's a lesson learned!) so we had to suffer screaming most of chrstmas day. Oh and I think MIL was trying to boil us all alive! My god I have never been in a house so hot. She had racked up the heating full whack, was planning to leave it on 24hrs and also give us a heater for our room!!!!

What have I missed?

Lol cos your MIL is like mine "oooh the baybee is coming over let's put the heating on max to see if we can make him sweat". Eejits.

Now I have educated her about the dangers of overheating now she has moved on to picking him up without supporting his head/neck. Seems the more it lolls violently the more satisfying it is.

Ello FESHes. Can someone explain baby clothes to me? Currently I have: sleep suits, with the built in feet, romper suits, with long sleeves/legs but no built in feet. Bodysuits with long sleeves/no legs, short sleeves/no legs and no sleeves/legs (the last TBG picked up today as he wondered around Babies R Us by himself).

What else do I need? What do babies wear? I have some little trousers on order as well. I know I need hats and cardigans. I guess socks as well? Is there anything I'm missing?

Our gaf is positvely cold and although I whinge about it I prefer it to hot. Everywhere I stay it is always TOO hot. On NYE at friends house Peppa was in her basket near the window which I had open as it was boiling. I am sure the heat contributed to my vomming on New Years Day Confused

Muse I think you have it pretty much sorted. Peppa lives in white sleepsuits and vests (no arms) at night and during the day I dress her in pretty much the same but more fancy ones (ie more colourful). Remember you are likely to get loads of clothing gifts so don't go overboard on the buying initially. When they are so little I personally like them to wear sleep suits rather than normal clothes as normal clothes make them look older and I want my baybeee to stay baybee like forever (since this is more than likely going to be my last Sad)

Cheers Okie. We haven't bought masses and masses, just some basic multi-packs of newborn stuff from Mothercare. Then some nicer 0-3 months stuff from my favourite website because I figure those will get used for slightly longer.

I know we'll get lots of gifts, just wanted to have enough to start us off. But I do get a bit confused about what everything is for!

Report
SilverSky · 02/01/2011 21:01

muse when is sneeze due!? Again you'll get given tons. I recommend a miracle blanket (Mothercare) and also a baby bug wrap (eBay is cheapest). None are essential but useful and practical !

Honestly don't underestimate how much you'll get given! It's immense. Keep a pad to write down who gives what cos you may forget and it helps when doing thank you cards.

We're all full of snot here. squeaks was 6 months on xmas eve and now has own room. Not much doing cause we all feel pretty rotten, but just want to mark my place and keep lurking for Messiah news. Must fire up proper computer soon. Gin and doughnits all round.

TEEF! OMG, we have TOOF! Grin

Just back from 6 month check-up, god I hate them. I get all jittery and expect them to take the baybee away from me uttering "you? A mother?". :(

Clothes. As soon as you figure out which outfits you really like and what works best, they'll have grown out of them. We are now in 6-9 month clothes. Wtf? Confused
