Congrats dixie and Hello little Arlo and all the other little lovelies that've arrived!
chelle Jack is taking 4oz every 3-4 hours and hardly ever brings any back up so he's definitely hungry for it. I am unfortunately expressing and topping up with formula as Jack would only feed from my left side, despite every effort to get him to take from both 
. I now have a nipple that looks as though a vampire has been attached for 2 weeks.
I've really fought with myself about it but it's just been impossible to carry on bfing.
Jack has a sleep pattern already. Sleeps all day bar an hour at around 10am and 4pm. He than has a really irritating awake spell between 9pm ish and midnight/1am. It is driving me mad as he never cries so don't think it's colic....? He has a couple of changes and a feed or two but just won't settle. If it was colic would he be screaming? help

hello to all the new arrivals, welcome to the land of no sleep
has anyone found that their LO's don't like their moses basket? Lucy is fine during the day but is reaaly hard to settle in it on a night so we have had to put her in the carry-cot, dc3 is still in the cot. she sleeps better, we are getting some 5-6 hour stretches on a night now.
I don't like the hungry formula either, it is harder to digest so baby will sleep longer before feeling hungry again. i kept ds on first stage all the was through and he was a hungry blighter. he still put weight on and did well on it.
sassy have taken your lead and noted what i have eaten when lucy is irritable. Diet coke is out, she was sick after one feed and the next time she wouldn't settle for hours.
beaditali late evening is lucy's awake time as well. we usually cluster feed from around 7.30 till 11pm. it's a pain as dc3 needs putting to bed at 8-9 and she can take a while so i have to listen to lucy squawking. last night she sucked her dads finger and fell asleep so qwe may have to give in and get her a dummy none of the other 3 would take one.

Thanks Debs75 it's good to know that we're not alone. We have tried a dummy with reluctance though he won't take it. Though I know it may have helped, I have to say I'm quite pleased as I really don't want to use one. He is currently awake.... still! I haven't had my morning sleep in. meep meep meep.
I came off Diclofenic after 10 days and now really wish I still had some as my stitches are killing me. I've had to bin all our lovely flowers so I don't sneeze as I feel as though I'm going to tear in half.
Jack is so worth it all though. Might try uploading more pics of his funny little face.

Its not just you Monstermuncher (like the name btw, it describes DS exactly, we have the process of latching down to "1-2-3-MUNCH")
We are feeding every 1.5 to 2.5 hours except for a small respite between 2.30am and about 5.30am. DH is currently spending the first shift 11pm - 2am on the sofa, with an expressed bottle feed about 1.30 then I get 2 - 6am. Luckily I think I get the easier time, i can doze a bit once he's gone to work.
The latch took some practice and a very experienced lactation specialist midwife over an hour to get him to work out what he needs to do, still have to post the nipple in his mouth, he's not quite managed to latch by himself yet. It does seem to work though, no pain or bleeding nips yet. (Hopeful ) It has been a bit wearing on the growth spurt though, when he's constantly on me for hours, switching sides with monotonous regularity. I have a very nice husband thank goodness who sends me away for a long hot bath when he gets in and breaks it up a bit.
Oh god I do seem to be rambling a bit so I will stop. Its nice to be able to just witter away to like-minded people and not bore my family to tears with all the nitty-gritty of new babies.
