Just thought I'd start a celebration thread. Griffin thought he'd win Barking or definitely come 2nd and was sure the BNP would take the Council. Similarly Stoke. You'll recall the BNP are going to make history thread from the other night. Was so much fun to see Griffin run out the back door last night in Barking (an exit I believe his fellow Nazi Richard "Gay Porn" Barnbrook is familiar with). Master race hey. Ha ha.

Couldn't help myself but think of Daft Punk and mates. Laughing the belly laugh of the righteous. Ha ha. Make history eh!!

He says London is lost. Great news! Good riddance.

Great news! Looks like the anti-BNPers did a great job. Unfortunately, does this mean the BNP will concentrate on the North now?

I don't think so. I think the infighting that has already started (press director & BNP #3 sending death threats to BNP leader two weeks before election ) will just get worse. Their usual method of debate is violence (see BNP C18 "debate" history). I reckon they'll eat themselves.

I do fear there will be more violent racists resorting to attacks though, whether linked to the EDL and organised or not.

They did badly everywhere really. The anti BNP campaigns took a lot of effort but paid off. There is no place for complacency but hey, Barking is Nazi free!

I am in the North and our council is now BNP free, so I am hoping that it is a trend all over the country, and not just in London.

I've spent a lot of time in Barking recently campaigning against them (rather than for anyone) and I was very worried yesterday. Today has been a masive relief and I feel such pride in local people and their desire to get out and show the country they're anti Nazi despite that meaning they had to vote for Hodge.

I was reading up on the BNP during the week, and God, they scare me. Griffin looks like an evil bastard, but the BNP candidate in our area looked a boyish, clean cut pleasant sort.
I'm so glad they've been slaughtered in this election. I think it was their best chance - given the disgruntlement towards the main political parties, Brown's Rochdale gaffe - really if the BNP were going to breakthrough I think this was their chance.
I really fear if they increase their powerbase. It's Mosley all over again, except I believe Mosely (unlike Griffin) actually had some personality. They're ignorant thugs, masquerading as patriots IMO.

Yeah - where is DP? For all her idiocy I am rather fond of the daft young bint. At least when SHE posts on Politics most people agree with each other and AGAINST her.

The BNP are nothing more than a bunch of thugs. Basing their policies on fear. ANd when they get a bad press (ie Griffin on Question Time) it is always somebody else's fault.

There is no place for a party such as the BNP in a civilised country like ours and the sooner they implode the better.

Certainly looks like Griffin's days might be numbered anyway.

How can he sleep at night?

LOVE Billy Bragg and he is so right that the BNP are just devisive bastards looking to stir up trouble

it isn't the other races' fault that places in Britain are crap. The BNP just want to exploit the inevitable misconceptions that they are.

miserable fuckers.

I bet Griffiths is dressing up in purple and joining the 'Fair Votes' campaign today. PR is his only hope now. Mind you if someone were to start a 'Islamic Caliphate Party' demanding Sharia Law and also got half a dozen seats under PR that would be a nice counterpoint. Cancel him out, as it were.

Blimey, bit of a deleting spree - I don't recall anything actually attacking anyone on this thread.

Are people not even allowed to discuss another poster, now?

I never thought BNP would be a trend - at the end of the day and whatever people's fears of immigration, the vast majority of people realise that the BNP is not the platform the debate or any policy changes.

It's still thuglife - let them go beat each other up.

I took the liberty of flicking through the results this morning to see how many deposits the bnp lost (dd eats her breakfast v. slowly) - I make it 269.

That's £134,500 they're down.

Such a shame.
