Anyone work in a poll station or count votes?

Cos I have just done something really really stupid. I staggered up the road with the dc in a rush. Carefully filled in the ballot forms (local and parliamentary)and promptly put both in the same box (local).....I know I know
Apparently the local ones are checked first so my question is will my vote still be counted - will they put it in the right box when they find it? I am sooooo kicking myself so please don't be too mean
Have namechanged as so embarrassed - even though no one here has met me in RL!

My Mom used to do it, they used staff from local banks/building societies at polling stations as they can count
I am almost sure that they would chuck the wrong one out, but not entirely.

Sorry, but hey, you've warned us all to be more careful now

It will be fine. Before they count votes they verify them (check that they are in the right box and stuff like that) even when they are counting them at different times they will do all the verification tonight. dont worry, it happens loads

Oh thank you - what a relief I also rang my LEA electoral dept. (before I saw your reply) and they also confirmed it will be fine.

I think my Mom must have been a bit of a JObsworth then
Am sure when she took me on a "this is how you vote" trip she told me otherwise, naughty Mother.

So, all OK then!
