MavisEnderby Thu 08-Oct-09 22:49:13

Ooh is this a new topic?I am not but will turn over

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 22:51:00

Am watching

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 22:51:00

Topic has been around for awhile thought I would poke my nose in and try and learn something

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 22:52:18

I like Ian Hislop, seems to know his onions as far as politics is concerned

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 22:53:34

he's getting stuck in, I don't think much of Yvette Cooper

whingeomatic Thu 08-Oct-09 22:55:17

Yvette Fielding would be better...

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 22:56:05

The ghost of maggie...oooh

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 22:56:36

She's in a shite position

Editor of Private Eye needs to know exactly wwhat the score is, I guess

I simply don't feel any form of warm regard for George Osbourne

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 22:58:27

He may be easy to hate in future

Ewe Thu 08-Oct-09 23:00:29

Love Ian Hislop. Find George Osborne incredibly annoying, he really really grates.

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 23:01:06

He can reinact his formative years as the whipping boy

deepdarkwood Thu 08-Oct-09 23:02:52

God, are there really people who like Ian Hislop - smarmy, arrogant twonk, imvho...

Interesting to have Mr M&S on, when he says he refuses to talk politics....

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 23:03:09

stepping aside from my attempt to learn politics

you think someone would have warned Stuart Rose not to wear that suit

Back to the politics he is coming across well

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 23:04:35

Mr M&S looks like a ventriloquist missing his dummy

notnowbernard Thu 08-Oct-09 23:06:23

George Osbourne FFS

"I'd like everyone to have that opportunity" (to set up their own business and employ 100s of people etc etc...)

He hasn't a clue, really hasn't

CristinaTheAstonishing Thu 08-Oct-09 23:09:36

Bloody hell, Ian Hislop comes across as a bit of a reactionary.

CristinaTheAstonishing Thu 08-Oct-09 23:10:15

I mean he's right but I've joined late and he sounds quite harsh.

deepdarkwood Thu 08-Oct-09 23:11:05

There's a reason for that, cristina smile

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 23:12:03

and the reason is? as I am here in an attempt to learn

Ewe Thu 08-Oct-09 23:12:22

I find Ian Hislop quite refreshing on something like this as he's not a politician he really challenges things people say. Albeit in a small yappy dog kinda way grin

CristinaTheAstonishing Thu 08-Oct-09 23:14:10

True, Ewe (that's a tongue-twister).

EightiesChick Thu 08-Oct-09 23:24:42

George Osborne always looks to me as if he's not a day over 11. Scary.

megcleary Thu 08-Oct-09 23:27:15

11 is pushing it, 6 I think

Ewe Thu 08-Oct-09 23:28:03

and his lips look a bit too red. Make up error.
