Did you hear Emily Thornberry being interviewed tonight it was toe curlingly awful. She had been brought on to discuss the labour manifesto and couldn't provide any of the in-depth answers required. I don't think she'd even read it. I thought Diane Abbott was crackers but Emily Thornberry is even worse. And labour want us to vote for these idiots and have faith they could run the country- they couldn't run a bring and buy sale!!!!

She is AWFUL. She's the one who was rude about her constituent for having an England flag up in his window during the world cup, yes? I think that tells me all I need to know about her actually. I can't work out whether JC has deliberately chosen these lunatics for these jobs, or whether they were literally all that were left because no one else will work for him.

I think they are all he has, it was very telling when Eddie mair confirmed that there are only 5 people in opposition who have any government experience

What DO they have experience in though? Ok Keir Starmer may not have experience in government, and is relatively new to politics, but he is extremely experienced and knowledgable in law and that shines through.

It's very depressing that there is so much focus on Labour's shortcomings though. It's the Conservatives we should be focussing on, and I have barely heard a peep out of anyone but TM. Where are they all? Has she told them all to lay low and let Labour hand it to them on a plate?

I thought she did okay, she was honest when she couldn't answer questions which makes a change.

Efferlunt. She may have been honest but she should have known the answers. If she was in government she can't say "I'm trying my best". How can you take her seriously??

I thought it was better than listening to endless sound bites.

I wish she had said - let me check my notes as she did today on TV. If you were doing a presentation about stats and data for work, you wouldn't be expected to memorise them all - you'd have them on a power point or whatever.
Labour are not perfect but they are offering something positive - an
attempt to get the big companies and the very richest to contribute to the infrastructure which makes this country such an attractive place to invest in. It is the Tories who are so shortsighted.

What a sorry state we are in! There is no one credible left to speak in the Labour Party. Most are young, inexperienced and overpromoted.
The old timers like Abbot and Thorberry are struggling away in the midst of their general incompetence.

Happy There are lots of credible people in the Labour Party. They just don't have a role in JC's version of it. For starters:

Keir Starmer
Hilary Benn
Dan Jarvis
Chuka Umunna
Yvette Cooper
Ben Bradshaw (Exeter - only Labour MP in the South West and I am reliably informed that he is awesome)
Lucy Powell

There are more. I just hope that JC resigns on June 9th and they can start to regroup and move forward. If he refuses to budge then maybe a split is the only way.

caitlin I absolutely agree with your list. My point was that they are outside the Corbyn circle. Every time I see Chuka Umunna I regret he gave up on the leadership bid. Then there is Hilary Benn who is a great speaker, etc. Etc. We are singing from the same hymn sheet.
