More on Trump

It is a Trump world and as the Modi saying goes

“Aab Ki Baar Trump Sarkar”

and as the Stump for Trump Sisters say

"Get on the Trump Train or get the hell out of the way"

Rock'n'roll

As Kaija linked, the actions of a very stupid, stupid man:

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/dec/17/donald-trump-china-unpresidented-act-us-navy-drone?CMP=othb-aplnewss_d-2

Donald Trump accuses China of 'unpresidented' act over US navy drone

But I think he meant unpresidented. He knows the best words.

Kellyanne Conway interview on her being harassed

Trump got what he wanted for Christmas - America - and he's re-gifting it.

Good man Stephen. Grin

I had forgotten that it seems the hacking was done via phishing emails.

The good old human factor. :)

If only the CIA and every security expert had warned people about not clicking on emails with unexpected links...

tell us why you feel that you can't discuss things fully honestly and openly and why you worry that the cia may be watching you

BadKitten - Oh dear, that comprehension problem again, eh? I am pleased that CIA may be watching MN and social media. Isnt that how they catch gunpowder plots and all?

Ah, South.
What was that thing again that you couldn't say here?
And how was FGM flourishing?

You say consistency, other people say broken record.

And I'm starting to feel like one, but it's really annoying not getting decent answers to straightforward questions.

'You say consistency, other people say broken record. '

That is the first time I have heard that - I have heard "on the money", "bang on the money" and "we're in the money" but never "broken record" apart from when it came to Crooked Hillary and Blair's speeches.

'And I'm starting to feel like one, but it's really annoying not getting decent answers to straightforward questions.'

Now you know what decent journalists felt like when interviewing the 172's candidate, Owen Smith, when the former Pfizer PR man stood against Labour Party member favourite and nemesis of the 172, Jeremy Corbyn.

Didn't Trump specifically asked Russia to find those emails?
Where can they be found? Where Trump's tax returns are.

It's going to be great the next few years. The laughs, the tears, the tears (by disappointed supporters).

You want feminists to cry? Why? Hmm

Report
squishysquirmy · 17/12/2016 16:39

You know that Trump pulls when he doesn't want you paying attention to something serious? He tweets some statement so utterly ridiculous, that everyone jumps on, because it is really hard not to engage with that level of idiocy. Then after a few days of back and forth and retweets and Trump contradicting himself, the serious issue has been almost buried.
Well it looks like some of his supporters are emulating their great leader.

I'm not saying we shouldn't challenge a bullshit statement, but we should be wary of being dragged into a wormhole of fuckwittery that leaves the serious, relevant issues undiscussed. That's what they want. I know it's tricky to strike the right balance though between challenging stupidity and getting completely diverted by it.

claig · 17/12/2016 16:39

Owen Smith even had the brass neck to say that "Jeremy is not the only socialist in the Labour Party, you know?"

I am hesistant to call any member of the "political class" a bold-faced liar without hard prrof so I immediately fact-checked that statement out on the Daily Mail's website and the leading Labour party candidates who stood against Jeremy in the previous electoral race either were all from Oxbridge, all had two PPEs each, or were shamelessly proud Blairites. Not a scintilla of socialist credentials could I find among the sea of spin.

missswatch, you do seem to be very obsessed with the idea of people crying. Why do you want people to cry? That doesn't seem very nice.

Report
Lweji · 17/12/2016 16:44

You're quite right, squishysquirmy.

Which is why I think it's worth pulling out the premises of the wild statements, and ask questions instead of getting drawn into the wrong argument.

Say, liberals allow FGM to flourish.
Key: is FGM even flourishing at all?
Feminists will be crying: so, things WILL get worse for women?

Report
SwedishEdith · 17/12/2016 16:44

so I immediately fact-checked that statement out on the Daily Mail's website

Ha ha ha. claig 's joke is exposed. Grin I'm amazed you've kept it up for so long and kept up with family and home.

Wow, are you going to write a book about it? Is this what this experiment is for?
