(61 Posts)Weed chills, alcohol kills
do you have a link to a study that there are 0 cannabis deaths a year? and 'tens of thousands' of alcohol deaths? or did you just make it up?
Possibly cannabis does not kill directly but what about road deaths and what about mental health?
"Discuss" - my arse - are you a teacher?
Lung cancer?

This isn't a gcse mock exam.
Yes. Ok please supply links to back up your information otherwise your post is a non starter.
I'm wrong, 3.3 million deaths every year are attributed to alcohol not tens of thousands: www.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohol-health/overview-alcohol-consumption/alcohol-facts-and-statistics.
It is impossible to overdose on cannabis, alcohol's toxic dose for someone without tolerance is only 4* the drink driving limit. Cannabis can possible worsen mental health for people with pre-existing conditions, but even then it's nowhere near as clear-cut as you might believe.
I fucking hate 'discuss'
What else do you think people do on a discussion board??
Those are US statistics.
TheChineseChicken This is a difficult one. What's for certain is that the tobacco some weed smokers mix it with (makes no sense to mix a stimulant to something that can cause panic attacks in some people but I digress) is much more likely to cause lung cancer than cannabis. Eating the drug as in marijuana brownies would remove any cancer risk.
OK so you are a stoner.....
I need to test the quality of what you are smoking.
Please post me at least a quarter.

I have a friend that was stabbed to death over a cannabis debt. I have a work colleague whose son was killed in a car crash caused by a driver under the influence of cannabis. I am not going to "discuss' as I am not sitting my GCSEs but both alcohol and cannabis can have devastating affects.
Hold on 3.3 million, isn't that about 5% of the population? Are you saying 1 person in 20 is dieing every year from alcohol consumption?
Ostrobogulous Yeah I tried to get either global figures or UK figures, but I think it illustrates the point. Same culture basically, just divide the figure by 6
BratFarrarsPony Lol believe it or not I've only ever tried it once. Incidentally this will make DM readers' heads explode: www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/marijuana-mum-smokes-bong-makes-7461436.
" Same culture basically, just divide the figure by 6 "
oh yes very scientific....
My son developed drug induced psychosis through cannabis use.
He tried to kill himself 4 times this year.
You just sound like an ill advised knob!!
My ex was a stoner. He beat me to a pulp whilst 'high', I truly believed he would kill me.
Wonder how many other people have been killed by someone under the influence somehow - eg driving under the influence....
Discuss?
Nah your alright thanks
It might not kill directly but it fucked my aunt up mentally and then she went on to harder stuff, and she is now dead, her MH was fine before.
Also "discuss" fuck off with that shit
ineedamoreadultierad
ihatethecold I used to be an alcoholic and tried to commit suicide many times under its influence. By that logic, alcohol should be banned
ihate psychosis same as my aunt. But hey you can't overdose!
Cannabis can cause mental health problems in young people especially men.
It's the reason DD is not allowed to see her dad.
It's not "cool" it's a shitty horrible drug that can ruin lives.
I have zero respect for "parents" who smoke it while in charge of their children. I actually massively judge them.
HTH
