Start using Mumsnet PremiumMy dp has become very interested and active in politics in the last couple years, and wants to take our kids (1 and 5) to peaceful political marches. He thinks they'll be fun for them, but I can't help but think, with the current political issues in society, that theres a chance my kids might get caught up in nastier stuff. He cannot see my point of view at all. Admittedly no marches in our town have gotten nasty but what if its the one time it does? AIBU?
I've taken my kids to marches, of course explaining what they were about, and leaving it up to them if want to come. Wouldn't do it if I'd expect violence.
