Iraq is Blairs stigma, A Pig is Daves?

Hate him or loathe him Blair will forever be remembered for the Gulf war and being Bush's lapdog. I just checked Dave's Face Book profile and despite a plucky determination to prove that it's business as usual by deploying inspirational posts about tennis and rugby there are hundreds of comments ignoring the subject to which he refers, instead opting to make banal (although sometimes funny) comments regarding the unsavoury activities he is 'alleged' to have performed on a dead pig. Is he lucky to have such a salacious story crop up at a time when the refugee crisis is continuing to escalate, a crisis he played no small part in causing? Is there any Herculean task he could accomplish that will stop him being-in the minds of vast swathes of the British public- the guy who put his penis in a pig?

I see this rumour as emblematic, rather than the only thing he can be accused of. It is foul and disgusting and not very surprising.

Clearly those who think that we need 4, 5, maybe 10 threads on the same slurry, who don’t have the intellect to see the difference Cameron has made to the UK’s prospects since 2010, may chose to give that thought, planted by self confessed man with a beef with Cameron, as Cameron’s legacy.

When Labour came into power in 1997, with no national emergencies, they had a few years to learn how to govern while putting up taxes, selling our gold and raiding pensions, the ‘stuff’ Labour are good at.

With the Conservatives out of power for 13-years Cameron in 2010 had to hit the ground running, form the first coalition in around 70-years, and fight an opposition that had totally unbalanced the economy prior to the crash opposing every reform from May 2010, yet judging by their action after that 2007/8 crash as real earning were falling, that oppositions only solutions from May 2010 UNTIL FACING REALITY - was to keep increasing the annual overspend sustaining the unsustainable, while putting UP taxes e.g. National Insurance.

March 2010; ”Alistair Darling: we will cut deeper than Margaret Thatcher”
www.theguardian.com/politics/2010/mar/25/alistair-darling-cut-deeper-margaret-thatcher

”Alistair Darling admitted tonight that Labour's planned cuts in public spending will be "deeper and tougher" than Margaret Thatcher's in the 1980s, as the country's leading experts on tax and spending warned that Britain faces "two parliaments of pain" to repair the black hole in the state's finances.”

October 2013; “Labour will be tougher than Tories on benefits, promises new welfare chief”
www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/oct/12/labour-benefits-tories-labour-rachel-reeves-welfare

“Rachel Reeves vows to cut welfare bill and force long-term jobless to take up work offers or lose state support”

March 2010; “Labour’s plans to increase national insurance next year will cost jobs, Alistair Darling has said.”
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/labour/7539343/Labours-planned-National-Insurance-increase-will-cost-jobs-Alistair-Darling-admits.html

“In his evidence, Mr Darling defended his plans to increase national insurance, saying it was necessary to raise extra money to reduce Government borrowing, which will be £167 billion this year.”

So Labour that KNEW cuts had to be made but we had to be on the Road to Greece before they faced it, will always be remembered as the incompetent party that with hundreds of billions to spend, a huge parliamentary majority, a boom decade in which to shape society, had nothing to show for it with nearly everything worse than when they came to power.

Cameron’s leadership from 2010 had to fix our economy, finances, still rocketing debt due to the unbalanced economy, the banks to lend again, the private sector given confidence to hire, our defence black hole, a housing crisis, the NHS with PFI debts 13,000 fewer beds and 3 million more citizens etc etc etc – having been passed a £153 billion annual government overspend by Labour, when our books were balanced around 2001, thanks to Tory budgets after the 1990/1 recession.

So if people can’t see the changes he had to make, our GDP that FELL 7% after the crash growing faster than any other European country, created more jobs than most of the Eurozone put together and so the UK has half the Eurozones unemployment rate – and still unable to work out how bad the UK would have been without his leadership and those who got us into the mess still trying to work out what they were doing wrong – then pig ignorant comes to mind.

What I do care about are the vile and disgusting things that he is doing as PM now, and I will judge him on these actions.

Under Labour there would have been huge cuts sooner than later, and without any reforms to the massive increase in welfare/benefits/tax credits that rose far higher than the rest of Europe in 'the good years' FINANCED by a financial bubble that then burst - ever higher taxes for all on top.

No one can say what a Labour government in 2010 or socialist coalition in 2015 under them would have cut, as they only TALKED about it and in the middle of a financial crisis the Tories didn't create, someone had to act.

Out in the real world, away from statistics and numbers and acronyms and cherry picked 'facts' this country is creaking at the seams. Schools, hospitals, old people homes, local governments are under an unprecedented amount of duress. The mindset of the average Briton is that of one under 360 degree assault The Tories have approached the the business of government with the sophistication and skill of a butcher with a chopper when really what was needed was the deft hand of a surgeon. But worst of all, in my opinion-leaving aside their abject failure to live up to their mission statement-was the constant pandering to the lowest common denominator with tepid sound-bites and populist , end of the pier platitudes. And now we find out Dave has carnal knowledge of a dead pig. I'm sure if it wasn't for all that pandering to base sentiment in a obvious attempt to divorce his party from 'nasty' then Piggate would not have the suction on the public mindset it seems to have acquired. You reap what you sow Dave. Just don't do it in a pig. And also the cocaine thing was pretty shabby too.

Cameron screwed the poor????

Not the huge welfare/benefit/tax credit State promised by Labour, but funded by the proceeds of a financial bubble Labour created - that Brown promised was “the end of boom and bust” – but in truth was the mother of all booms and then busts to come unstuck at the first big recession?

'screwed the poor?'
Unequivocally the Tories are guilty of this. Instead of having a seasoned old hand with experience of administrating the most premier decision office in the land, we got Cameron. A man who has never really earned anything in his life and then has the gall to refer to benefit claimants as 'having a sense of entitlement'. Of course there needed to be cuts, most modern state's after the crash were caught with their pants down and also had to recede what the government could do. But to go about it with the exuberant glee they demonstrated has damaged this country in ways that will NEVER TRULY BE APPARENT IN THE EXTENT OF THEIR AWFULNESS FOR GENERATIONS (like Thatcher). All the time this Government has been protecting the wealthy, the powerful, the employer, the landlord and all the time degrading the poor, the sick, the worker, the tenant or squatter. Please don't waste time put forward the premise that accusations of 'screwing the poor' are open to any sort of debate. Cameron and his cadre of cronies are guilty of this. If you were feeling lenient you might only accuse them of trying to make society more Victorian. If you weren't feeling so charitable than many would say they were trying to go past that into Draconian even Orwellian territory. Need proof?

MaggieRainbow ... you are all pathetic class ideology, no facts, if you refuse to see the damage the 'party of the people', with an ex postman, ex ship steward and other simple folk managed to inflict on the poor with all those billions to spend - and choosing to always blame the Conservative Party that sorts it out - including Thatcher, were YOU around in 1976 when Labour called out the IMF to financially bail us out and the UK was disappearing up its own arse hole, I was.

Labour over 13-years build up a client State BIGGER than the private sector that could support it, hence needing to borrow over £30 bil a year ON TOP of record tax receipts from a banking bubble before the crash, JUST TO SUPPORT IT - so it was always going to go tits up at the first recession when the state had to also support the unemployed as tax receipts crashed.

Labours policies was encouraging the landlords by screwing private pensions in their first year and lowering Capital Gains Tax (the real millionaires tax) to record lows (10%) - together with a 2000 secret policy to encourage migrants in before 2004 and not building anywhere near enough homes- why do you think they'd be no fall out from those POLICIES, not the fallout Cameron inherited?

Shelter (2009); The housing crisis in numbers – and the need for spare bedrooms, never mind homes.
england.shelter.org.uk/campaigns/why_we_campaign/the_housing_crisis/what_is_the_housing_crisis.

• Over 1.7 million households (around 5 million individuals) are currently waiting for social housing
• 7.4 million homes in England fail to meet the Government's Decent Homes Standard
• 1.4 million children in England live in bad housing. [3]
• In 2008/09, 654,000 households in England were overcrowded. [4]
The number of new households is increasing faster than the number of house builds

Labour just put up taxes to the poor, not take millions out of tax, had no idea how to create non government jobs when the Conservatives have created over 2 million.

In 2005 there were around 500,000 unemployed 16-24 year olds, around 700,000 before the crash began in 2007 and nearly 1 million by 2010 - spot the trend, as real earning fell under Labour from 2008 and Labour was 'helping' the poor by putting up National Insurance to employer and employee, so a tax on jobs.

Judging political parties by a Food Bank is just pig ignorant, as god knows what the take up would have been if Labour were returned to power in 2010 - as all the damage to the economy/jobs was done BEFORE then.

Is a pig ignorant statement.

A country that measures real poverty, including food bank usage, is more representative than a government that conceals both unemployment figures and true poverty by changing the definition.

www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jun/23/child-poverty-measures-figures-first-rise-in-decade

All the damage to the economy/jobs was done before then
Yes... By Westminster's debt to the private financial sector. NOT MY DEBT.

And Thatcher deregulated the finance industry.
Not labour.

Squidzin .... according to the IFS above, inequality rose under Labour despite trying to hook more on benefits/welfare/tax credits as we parked a few million on sick benefits and found 3 million jobs (and homes) for overseas citizens - I wonder why so many people were left out/poor/homeless?

Just how do we snap our fingers and fix the social/economic/financial train crash from Labour's designed policies - especially when not only had "the money all gone" but Labour left in 2010 a £153 billion annual deficit/overspend to fix it.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2010/may/17/liam-byrne-note-successor

If creating a few million jobs, taking millions out of taxes, don't help child poverty that what, means a family has a 23k income those in real poverty would cross seas for, then feck knows what we do - AFTER finding out how they spend their money i.e. drink, fags, drugs, technology, shit expensive fast food and TV packages.

After the biggest recession in 80-years, we have food banks, but I suspect other countries do with twice our unemployment and a less generous benefits system, or their people go without.

P.S. As you know Thatchers financial reforms did not cause the financial crash, but Brown's UK bank de regulation made our situation worse, I have only proved it to you about 10 times, Brown and the FSA regulator he formed admits it above - please try and keep up.
