Farage said he would resign and he did. He didn't say for how long he would resign, and when the party implored him to continue, he decided he would once again put his own wishes second and put serving the people first.

Seriously, for someone who has lectured on the accountability of elected MP's, Farage has not set a very good UKIP standard of even personal accountability, when not elected.

Look it was clear to anyone with half a brain that Farage was coming back to re apply for UKIP leadership, after honoring his word spending a 'decent' time as a simple UKIP MEP - with the ability at any time to speak, as one of the simple U-kippers. lol.

And as an ex City 'my word is my bond' he knew that, so there must have been a bit of panic within UKIP for not allowing him time, from directionless senior people, financial backers, even a threatened coup from one of your MP's - so there is the real Thanet story. IMO

Yes, millionaires have put money into UKIP and they want the best person possible to lead UKIP and take it to the Establishment. Farage s not politically correct like most of the rest of them, that is why he is the best one to shake them up.

It looks like some of the politically correct UKIP MEPs might be turning on Farage. If Farage loses, the Establishment wins. The UKIP voters are hoping Farage will rout them.

Personally when I see Patrick O’Flynn on TV he doesn’t come across as trustworthy; indeed he always scowls and looks to me as if measuring up those around him for his next meal, but call me bias, I think UKIP has a few of them e.g. Tim…. whats-his-face?

Farage recently has kept mentioning how hard he has worked for 20-years on project UKIP, its 24/7, his family has suffered, yada yada yada ….

In a past professional life in the office I’d see that as someone trying to get over how indispensable they are and wonder exactly who are they trying to convince, their boss (in this case the electorate), or themselves.

In Farage’s case, surrounded by mainly Tory rejects, it is an unfortunate (for UKIP’s future), that 'in the land of the blind, the least swivel eyed man is king.'

To me UKIP needs talent balance, as Farage cannot do it all himself and those beneath him will want more recognition and it needs to be addressed, but internally, and you’d think you communications expert might understand that.

What with O'Flynn and Carswell challenging Farage so openly, a little u-kipper earthquake is coming and unless Farage has health issues, my money would be on Farage coming out as winner - but for UKIP as a whole needing to keep their EU Referendum pooh together in order to look relevant, its a fight they really don't need. IMO
