Ha ha ha - proof that David Cameron DOES have a sense of humour - he has replaced Lansley at Dept of Health with Jeremy Hunt

If it's not a smashing sense of humour, then my only other guess is it's a desperate attempt to curry favour with Rupert Murdoch - the only man left in England who doesn't think Jeremy CHunt deserves his name.

If you thought the Tories couldn't do any more to trash the NHS...

Perhaps Rupert Murdoch wants to buy the NHS?

I bet William Hague is not laughing - he's been given Baroness Warsi whose diplomatic skills have yet to shine out.

Jeremy Hunt. A forced birther with a belief in homeopathy.

Yes, yes, laughing bleakly when I saw that, too.

Isn't it reassuring that at this time of NHS privatisation, the Dept of Health is going to a man with a history of complete integrity in the face of lobbying by commercial interests?

@slug LOL! "Forced birther"! He does not even ban abortion providers from offering pregnancy services on television ads, as long as they don't mention the A-word in the advert itself. Some abortion supporters will say "it's a legal medical service, so why not advertise it?" That's not much use as it has been legal in most circumstances since April 1968 with the advertising rules not being relaxed for another 40 years.

I wanted lansley out but Jesus wept.

Gove is out of education isn't he? But I read the new bloke is a good friend of Goves. Is education shafted as well?

Viva - Gove seems to be staying. I loathed Lansley and wanted him gone but to replace him with that lying little spoonerism. Gah.

Report
VivaLeBeaver · 04/09/2012 13:52

That's odd. It was on the BBc live update bit that gove was going but now it isn't. Ah well, he can stay and fuck up ks4 a bit more then.

Gove is staying Angry not sure he was ever going, he's one of Cameron's key people so not sure what the BBC were on to there.

The Hunt move Angry Angry is proof that the govt want a useful, sycophantic idiot in charge of the NHS. Bloody ridiculous. And we have 3 more years of this

Report
slug · 04/09/2012 14:27

Extrospectiv, any person who seeks to force women to stay pregnant against their will is a forced birther.

Guess Cameron will take all the media PR Murdoch Hunt will give him.

This is only the man who called the NHS a 60 year old mistake.... Angry

I know, just when I thought it couldn't get worse, we have hunt 'looking after' the NHS. Whatever your political view, you've got to be outraged by a clearly incompetent man being put in charge of the health service at this time. Cameron, your judgement is something else.

Fucking hell, and there was me thinking the government couldn't get any worse. Seriously, how do we get rid of these guys? A gang of monkeys throwing poo at each other would be more trustworthy and probably do a better job. Revolution?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who recalls Mr Hunts comments about the NHS.

I fear the bell tolls loudly ........

@Slug now I have seen his comments, I understand your point.

But this ain't the Supreme Court of the USA under a Democratic president. So sorry, but there is NO abortion litmus test for this position. He has the right to whatever beliefs he wants on this; it's not even an issue that can be whipped in votes due to the primacy of conscience being recognised.

Keep your abortion litmus tests off our (legislative) body.

I can't believe the Conservatives couldn't find a doctor, a nurse, someone, anyone with experience of the NHS to do the job rather than Jeremy Hunt. A man who the public perceives to be a twisty, slimy, lying twunt who will make his advisor resign so he doesn't have to take responsibility for his own actions. Yes Mr Cameron, top appointment!

On a lighter note I still chortle at the memory of that unfortunate newsreader who got his name wrong. Not the fact he got the name wrong but the sound bite of him trying not to laugh was hilarious. Childish I know.
