It started with a photographer, but actually Dave has created 26 jobs for his pals - including a personal stylist for Sam.

Dear god the hypocrisy is staggering

Make sweeping cuts while all the time talking about being "in this together", then criticise people in the public sector for having "non-jobs"

I mean, these jobs are the definition of non-jobs.

He has employed someone to do his twitter feed. shock

Sam has a personal stylist. She is not even a public servant shock

Also he has not advertised these jobs and simply employed people who he knew. Another example of his staggering hypocrisy and total lack of integrity 6-aides-public-payroll-bypassing-recruitment-rules .html

They are Tories, staggering hypocrisy is their specialist subject. Cameron has a PR and he knows the value of personality and image in these times. Agreed it is a shocker and completely unfair, he does after all have enough personal wealth to finance this anyway.

Tories are wankers... always were and always will be but they are just better packaged than they ever were.

Sarah Brown had three assistants on the public payroll.

I would love for you to point out the thread where you directed similar abuse at her when Gordon Brown was PM.

Cherie Blair famously had Carole Caplin.

I don't like these idiotic wastes of money, but please don't pretend this is somehow unique to the Tories. Labour were worse, spent more, and had more cronies.

I don't get how she has a stylise yet still manages to wear such awful clothes.

Sorry - not much help there.

MaMoTTaT Tue 09-Nov-10 13:08:25

Longerfinger - that may well be true about when Labour were in power - but they weren't talking about making sweeping cuts, that would be "hard but necessary" - while doing it.

Chil1234 Tue 09-Nov-10 13:38:46

And we're against public sector job-creation now because......?

complimentary Tue 09-Nov-10 14:01:52

Labour were worse, much worse. But that does not excuse Cameron.

Why does his wife need a stylist? She is not the first lady or anything of the sort?
In any case she should pay for it herself,, being lady Astor's daughter, very wealthy etc; Samantha Cameron is naturally preety and does not need stylists/hairdressers.

The above is a total waste of money.

Having said that, Cameron is doing a FAR superior job of sorting out this country than the inadequate labour party ever did.

The Labour party ruined the country and left Cameron to pick up the pieces.sad

LadyBlaBlah Tue 09-Nov-10 14:37:23

What exactly has Cameron done to 'sort this country out?'

Also, Carole Caplin was not paid by the public purse. And I can find no evidence that Sarah Brown had "3 publicly funded stylists". Which makes it rather a different story.

I smell horseshit.

longfingernails Tue 09-Nov-10 17:16:44

LadyBlaBlah The three publicly funded assistants is reported by Paul Waugh, who is normally very accurate. a.html

Talking about vanity projects: just remember how close Tony got to "Blair Force One" too!

complimentary Tue 09-Nov-10 17:41:17

Ladyblabla. Cameron has done a lot to 'sort this country out'
he is trying to rectify us nearly going bankrupt, caused in part by the Labour administration. The labour party wasted millions on quangos, nonsense projects, and letting the welfare state balloon until this administration had to squeeze it. Brown, ( a right bastard if ever there was one, sorry for the flowery language!)Did not give the people of this country the promised referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, but then why should I apologise, Blair hasn't and he has taken this country into two wars. killing over 300 service men and women, leaving children fatherless and motherless.
This does not include the thousands of Iraqi/Afghan men/women/children who have lost their lives in both conflicts, and why? just because we have a vainglorious leader of the LABOUR party who was a poodle to Bush who brought us into these conflicts.

The wrongs that the Labour party did to this country are to numerous to mention! Are the above enough? Cameron may have his faults but knowhere near the faults IMO that the labour party and its cronies have.

I don't think Sam will come close to beating Cherie in the high maintenance stakes. According to Chris Mullen, it was Cherie's insistence that the Prime Minster's nuclear bunker was redecorated - that did for Blair as PM.

Labour only supported the war in Iraq based on the evidence they had too hmm

Complimentary - the banking crisis caused a global recession and right up until that moment, David Cameron was supporting and pledging to match the labour public spending hmm

I am not sure that could be considered 'evidence' for Sarah Brown's publicly funded three stylists as you have claimed, LFN. I am positive there would be more firm press about this if it were the case and not a deliberate slur campaign.

huddspur Tue 09-Nov-10 22:21:00

This is ridiculous when you consider the need to reduce public spending, can't believe how stupid the PM has been on this one.

complimentary Tue 09-Nov-10 22:27:13

Ladyblabla. Tony Blair knew that Saddam/Iraq did not have any WMDs, two weeks before the invasion and misled not only the labour party, but other parties and worse the British public. We cannot forget he was the leader of the labour party.

One cannot defend the indefensible!

Cameron may well have said he would match labours spending, but he was not the one who spent our money was he? He's not the one who put us in the shite, Labour did. The banking crisis was only partly to blame, labour did the rest.

huddspur Tue 09-Nov-10 22:30:14

complimentary- the tories are up to their necks in the Iraq war scandal, they were up for finishing off Saddam as much as Labour. Only the Liberals opposed the war and can hold their heads up high.

MollieO Tue 09-Nov-10 22:47:50

The article longfinger linked to actually lists 10 not 3! I think jobs for the boys is the norm in politics but completely agree it is absolutely not acceptable in today's economic climate.

Employing someone to do your twitter feed is absolutely barking.
