Midlife women’s podcasts

I’ve been listening to a couple and wondering are there any I am missing out on.

Postcards from midlife with Lorraine candy and Trish Halpin. They cover some interesting topics and have some good interviewees, particularly focused on menopause

As good as it gets with Bev Turner and Marina Fogle. I’ve found this a little mixed as they focus on themselves. Bev is quite open and honest about her struggles and Marina asks the questions whilst revealing little beyond a lovely life.

The shift - content is good but I have found Sam baker quite difficult to listen to.

Anyone have other suggestions I might like?

I absolutely love Older and Wider - it's Jenny Eclair and her friend Judith who co-wrote Grumpy Old Women. It's personal and funny with a few film and tv recommendations too. Also Fortunately with Fi and Jane is good.

A bit late to this party but The Midpoint by Gabby Logan is also good

Fortunately seems like the archetypal middle-aged woman's podcast.

I can't quite find one I love. Fortunately is just a bit too 'old and sensible' for me, although I love Jane Glover and do listen every week.

The Midult is more my age group but something about Emily Mc doesn't strike the right note. Having said that they listen to their interviewees which is so important - I can't bear podcast hosts who talk over their guests as they're sure they're more interesting.

Also isn't it annoying the way they all take all of August off?

How much must they earn to be able to do that. I wish my job gave me a month off every summer!

Great Indoors with Sophie Robinson. Interiors chat from two very nice middle aged ladies.

I was listening to Fortunately while I walked the dog this morning and I decided it's gone off the boil a bit, and I think it's because it's become a bit hand-wringing.

They had Liane Moriarty on, who I was interested in as I like her books, but within five seconds Fi was sighing and saying how she can't bear to read about male on female violence. Which is a fair point, but I just think she's got a bit gloomy recently, and lost some of the joie de vivre that I used to enjoy in this podcast. Jane's more upbeat, but god Fi has become so down, it's putting me off the podcast. They also started trying to diss the misogyny in Australia - again, fair point, but I don't listen to this podcast for 60 minutes of dissing men and hand-wringing - there are Guardian podcasts for that.

Instead I am LOVING Older and Wider - they are a fair bit older than me but SO funny that I actually laugh out loud listening to it. Highly, highly recommend.

I also like Postcards from Midlife. Not so keen on the Midult - they, too, always sound a bit down, and there's no need for that!

I listen to Older and wider constantly as I only discovered it a few weeks ago.
Absolutely love it .
I'll be bereft once I am up to date .

I love Older and Wider, though have been a bit bored recently with the baby talk. To be expected though as both their daughters are pregnant/have had babies. Jenny Eclair is one of those people, like Jo Brand, I could listen to read from the telephone directory and be enthralled.

Thanks for these! I have just listened to the last episode of Fortunately and thought 'those wise Mumsnetters will have a few recommendations to fill this gap'. I LOVE Older &Wider, so I'm going to try the Midult.

I still enjoy Standard Issue - they have some interesting guest interviews and maintain a fairly unflinching feminist viewpoint on everything.
