Thanks for this.

I have spent the last few Saturday afternoons cooking while listening to the radio or to podcasts. It’s my new thing!

It’s such a simple pleasure but it makes me so happy.

Oh this exciting! I love podcasts, in fact I make one myself. Here's my top 5 favourites: Fortunately (Fi Glover and Jane Garvey), Serial (If you haven't listened to the first series yet you should), The Allusionist (all about language and words), What Fresh Hell: Laughing in the Face of Motherhood (American take on parenting, funny with great tips) and finally Radiolab (great storytelling). None of these are mine btw. Happy Listening and would love to hear other recommendations. x

Thank you for opening this topic and for the recommendations @Podcastingmum. I have only just discovered podcasts and am obsessed! I find Night Vale very relaxing to listen to.

Ooh I don’t know that one, I’ll have to add it to my list! Thank you! Smile There’s so much to choose from, it’s great isn’t it!

Untold is great (true crime, unsolved murder of a private detective in Sydenham in the 80s - really murky and sinister, but fascinating and moving)

I’ve heard of that one but haven’t listened yet, another one to add to the list!

I love podcasts, but find that I just can't keep up with them. I used to just have the backlog of TV programmes that I'd recorded and the piles of unread books next to bed. Now I've got a backlog of downloaded podcasts that I can't keep up with. Yet one more thing to stress over (first world problem, I know)

I read about podcasts here or in a newspaper that sound interesting, or I listen to one and there's a trailer for another or I listen to Podcast Radio Hour and find even more that sound interesting. I now have 212 that I subscribe to!

Over the weekend I've listened to a couple that were so honest and heart-wrenching that I've almost been in tears ("Terrible, thanks for asking" and an episode of "Ear Hustle"). I needed a few episodes of Simon Mayo's Confessions for a bit of light relief.

Woohoo! Just found this board.

My favourites are

The Moth
This American Life
Russell Brand Under the skin (yes he can be a teeny bit annoying on occasion but I love this series)
S-town (So sad when I finished it)

Aha! You found it BeUpStanding!Smile
This American Life, is I think my favourite podcast ever.
I'm going to the London Podcast Festival today and hoping to see some people from podcasts I like. I know Starlee Kline from the Mystery Show and Helen Salesman from The Allusionist are doing talks, though as I don't know what they look like it will be hard to spot them if I don't do some by googling!
