I've got two friends that are wiccan that told me. But they are hesitant to tell people in general. One in particular won't speak to her parents about it. Mainly because there's a lot of misinformation and fear around it all.

Some of them are fairly obvious - wearing pentacles etc. But those might just be goths Or goth wiccans! Or pagans of another stripe....

A friend of mine is.

She told me over a year ago (would never have guessed).

She hasn't told any of our other friends yet and it's nothing to do with me if she ever does. I'm certainly not going to say anything.

Some people you just know. Last summer heading to the beach early morning, we encountered that lady coming off the shingle with bear feet and a look of peaceful contemplation. Her clothes gave her away, but only because i knew what i was looking for, but it was the look on her face that confirmed it. Other people just thought she was a bit odd.

It depends on the person. Some will say, some will make it obvious to those in the know, and some like to keep their cards close. Its a bit like all things personal. it depends on the person.

Most goths IME are bright, actually.

What's wrong with being Wiccan? They're about as inoffensive a bunch as you can possibly come across, surely.

Heck, if we are near a beach I will go down in the very early morning with my unusual clothes, bare feet, dreamy peaceful expression on my face and meditate on the Bible cos I am Christian!

Suppose the lack of a pentacle might give it away.

If you really want to know, I suppose you could do a very odd thing, and just ask?

Did a coment i make get misunderstood? People thought she was odd for wearing lots of clothes when we were all in swim suits, and the stones didnt seem to hurt her feet. ouch.

Maybe i am just a bit touchy drunk tonight

ifnotwhynot - sorry to laugh, but wondered if bad pedicure standards were what gave it away if she had bear feet.

Sorry, its late but that did make me laugh!

Perhaps it was the comment "coming off the shingle with bear feet" - made me think of Yogi Bear!!!! [childish]

Wasn't misunderstanding (I don't think, sorry if it came over that way!)

  • just picturing myself in several floaty layers and bare feet like I usually do - I rarely wear a swimmy on the beach, too many flabby bits!

Sorry, but poor grammar is my biggest bugbear.

No, I liked your spelling.

I'm pretty stressed at the mo and finding it very hard to sleep - and it raised a real chuckle, so thankyou!!

if you were wearing a cloak covered in christian symbols that i recognised i'd spot them and recognise them for what they were. So of the other religon's less well known symbols would leave me wondering.

homonyms always catch me out. i know the difference and when what should be used but getting that information to my tping sometimes short circuits along the way.

Hi, I was just wondering because I'm being drawn towards being Wiccan and a couple of the mums at school fit the bill, but I just don't know how to ask, but I really want them to tell me.
One is always wearing floaty clothes and Wiccan symbols and another is always going on about crystals and the natural world.
I like Owls and have loads of pictures and ornaments and have the 'Green Man' next to my front door.
Maybe I just confuse everyone
