DS (nearly 6) asked this

it's not his name. It's just the English for a 'supreme deity'.

Different languages have different names for a 'supreme deity': Dieu, Allah (Arab christians use Allah for 'god'), Gott, Dios, Yahweh, Jehovah etc

although I think Yahweh and Jehovah might be attempts at giving a name to the Hebrew letters for YHWH which I think is something like 'to be' or 'he that makes things become' or somthing .. gawd but I'm rusty on this

I told DS that God is bigger and better than anything else he could possibly think of, and 'God' is the word we use for that.
And God has the answers for all those really great questions that mum and dad TOGETHER can't answer! He said "Wow, that is really clever!!"grin
