A gift of God - a poem

I wrote this, this morning, its been buzzing around my head for a couple of days (its really weird, cos I don't "do" poetry). Someone told me I should share it with you all:

Imagine a Gift of God where you feel called to do his will,
you feel called to use the talents he has given you
that you want to give of your best,
because all you do is for the glory of God
and you know you deserve no special praise for what you do
because what you do is what he has given you
and it is God that should be glorified, not you.

Imagine a Gift of God, where you are inspired by his world
You see his creation literally as his gift to everyone
That you constantly give thanks for the world he has given
That you wonder vaguely, why no-one else sees this too

Imagine a Gift of God where the bible is seen
as a living source of his words to all of us
where the words literally leap out of the page
Where there is a message in the words people have written
Words that are inspired by God, yet inspire us too
Words we can take comfort in
Words we know are meant for us
Words that are evidence of a faithful God

Imagine a Gift of God where there is still a child-like trust

  • trust that God knows what he is doing

A belief that God knows what is best
A belief that means we can put ourselves in God?s hands
And mean it
So when the world presses down on us
When our feelings get too much for us
We can offer it up to God, knowing he will take care of us.

Imagine the Gift of God that is Asperger?s.
