Yet ANOTHER question for Expat, St George and similar...please?

I just want to know the explanation for why this happens , please. This is the total 100% unvarnished truth - no elaboration, no editing. Last Saturday I went to a ball in London at which there was an art sale of lithographs for charity (Miro, Matisse, Dali and picasso, mainly). They were displayed on a long buffet table, on easels.

On Wednesday night/Thursday morning I had a very clear dream in which I was seeing the central lithograph of that sale positioned on the buffet table, but for some reason I kept saying to myself that's the Dali, and two clear voices kept saying repetitively 'it's Madonna and the Yarnwinder', so much so that I woke up saying those words. I remembered what the painting was as soon as I woke up, because I had read an obit in The Week about 2 months ago of the old Duke of Buccleuch saying it had been stolen from him 7 years ago- so although the image was clear I immediately felt I understood my confusion in the dream. However, I then got out of bed, and my dh switched the TV on, and instantly, literally, the newscaster said'Breaking news, The Madonna and the Yarnwinder has been recovered etc etc'. I honestly jumped at the words.

How does that happen?

bump? I'm not trying to be interesting - I am just curious to know what causes such a thing - it's too random to be coincidence, and it was crystal clear. It's never happened before, in any context.

i've heard l ots of people see the future in their dreams. not that uncommon.
though no idea why it happens. or how it happens. or any scientific reasoning for it.

Sorry, missed this before.

Right, logical explanation is that on Saturday you overheard people talking. It is feasible that someone at the ball had some knowledge about the Madonna. The police raid was on the Thursday morning but they presumably had some info before then to act on. Combine that possibility with the knowledge you already had about the theft of the Madonna and you looking at art work, you could end up with your dream.

As for pre-cognition...I wish I knew. I have experienced it a few times myself with personal matters and once with a news item (death of Ayrton Senna) but I have no idea how or why.

Sorry, not much help.

No, that is helpful, thankyou. My great grandmother and my grandmother had similar episodes, some very strange, and I am just curious since my dream seemed so random, and yet as clear as television is. I am fairly sure that no one mentioned the Leonardo in my hearing at the ball, but it is certainly a logical explanation of sorts.
