Someone I know could do with getting away and sorting his head out. Having a bit of a personal crisis, is depressed and so on. As far as I know he has no particular faith or interest in spirituality, but I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere healing but low key he could go for a while - say several weeks, and where there would be counsellors available?

There was a really good article on retreats in either the Saturday telegraph the Sunday Times a couple of weeks ago. It was mainly religious retreats which don't force religion on you! It sounds like just what you're looking for. i can't get onto Telegraph website at the moment but if you do a search in their travel section I'm sure you'll find the article
The website is here

Thanks both. Yes I think yours might be a bit scary looking saltire, but I think there could be some good leads in the telegraph thing.

The monks look scary but they are really lovely people. But I know what you mean
