I found this - but maybe it's not the one you are thinking of?

God?s Lent Child.

?I?ll lend you for a little while
A child of mine? God said ?
For you to love the while he lives
and mourn for when he?s dead.
It may be six or seven years
or forty two or three
but will you, till I call him back,
take care of him for me?

He?ll bring his charms to gladden you
and, should his stay be brief,
you?ll have his nicest memories
as solace for his grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
but, there are lessons taught below,
I want this child to learn.

I?ve looked the whole world over,
in my search for teachers true,
and from the things that crowd life?s lane
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love,
nor think the labour vain,
nor hate me when I come to take
this lent child back again?

I fancied that I heard them say,
?Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done?
for all the joys thy child will bring
the risk of grief will run.
We?ll shelter him with tenderness,
we?ll love him while we may,
and for the happiness we?ve known
forever grateful stay.
But, should thy Angels call for him
much sooner than we planned,
we?ll brave the grief that comes
and try to understand.

Put this one on your other thread ...

God gave us a tiny Rosebud, it was the fragile kind.
He never opened his petals; they were so delicate and fine.

God didn't want us to keep him, to care for and to love,
So He tenderly took him away, up to heaven above.

There he is cared for by angels, and his petals will open wide,
Where all can see his beauty, which comes from deep inside.

There he will bloom forever, in that beautiful garden of Love,
Spreading his wonderful fragrance, Through the mansions up above.

Also have this one:

Lost Love

A kiss never kissed
A dream never wished.
An embrace never felt
A beauty never beheld.
A tear never cried
A life never tried.
A love never shown
A child never known.

this is the one i meant but now not sure if it is the one you wanted.

Did you ever think, Dear Mother
as the seeds of me you sowed,
as you breathed new life inside of me
and slowly watched me grow,
in all your dreams about me
when you planned me out so well,
when you couldn't wait to have me there inside your heart to dwell,
did you ever think that maybe I was planning for you, too,
and choosing for my very own a mother just like you?
A mother who smelled sweet and who had hands so creamy white,
a tender, loving creature who would soothe me through the night?
Did you ever think in all those days while you were coming due,
that as you planned a life for me I sought a life with you?
And now as I lay in your arms,
I wonder if you knew
while you were busy making me
I was choosing you!

I found this:

Ridvaniyyih Khanum related that when her child was ill, the Master
came and gave two pink roses to the little one, then, turning to the
mother, He said in His musical voice so full of love: ?Be patient.?
That evening the child passed away.
?Ridvanniyyih,? said the Master, ?there is a Garden of God. Human
beings are trees growing therein. The Gardener is our Father. When He
sees a little tree in a place too small for her development, He
prepares a suitable and more beautiful place, where she may grow and
bear fruit. Then He transplants that little tree. The other trees
marvel, saying: ?This is a lovely little tree. For what reason does
the Gardener uproot it??
?The Divine Gardener, alone, knows the reason.
?You are weeping, Ridvaniyyih, but if you could see the beauty of the
place where she is, you would no longer be sad.
?Your child is now free, and, like a bird, is chanting divine joyous melodies.
?If you could see that sacred Garden, you would not be content to
remain here on earth. Yet this is where you duty now lies.?

I have found it:

ANGEL

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.

One day he asked God: "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

GOD replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

"But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy."

"Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."

"And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?"

"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

"Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"I've heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?"

"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

"Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard.

And the child in a hurry asked softly: "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

"Your angel's name is of no importance, you will call your angel: 'Mummy'."

'An Angel wrote in the book of life, my baby's date of birth. Then whispered as she closed the book 'Too beautiful for Earth'

My Little Angel

As I?m sitting in my chair

I find myself in deep despair

Whatever was it that I had done

To lose my unborn little one

I wanted you so very much

To love, to cuddle, to feel your touch

Your little fingers, your little toes

How much I miss you, no one ever knows

God now has you up above

My little angel that I still love

I?ll think about you every day

Forever in my heart you?ll stay

As you are now with all the rest

My little angel, night, night

God Bless

xxxx

hope these help too xxx
