i was just thinking the other day how about giving HIM thanks for what he has done for us , in the threads,, as well as telling HIM our needs.

Yes, thank you DO. Mufti - what a great idea!

I had a customer tell me today that her mother isn't very good - don't know the details, sounded serious though (as in all family going to visit). I asked if I could pray for her, and she said yes she'd like that. So could you all pray for K's mother, that God's mercy and peace be with her, whatever His will is.

And THANK YOU God for giving me the opportunity to witness for you!

Report
mufti · 25/07/2007 15:32

well do had the idea too, as she has put thanks on the new thread.. that was what reminded me to mention it.

Here's my thing to give thanks for...

On Saturday night I saw my brother and for the first time ever he asked me to pray for him (to get a new job, as he is working out his redundancy period and he's starting to worry about not having a job to go to).

I have been praying that he will be more open to God, and this is a real step forward! He said that when he next has a job intervier he will text me so that I can pray.

So thank you God for being at work in my brother!

Evening all. Have tonsilitis and am feeling tired - but very grateful that our feet are still dry - so won't tarry.

Prayers for you especially for Rosey and your dh, and for NASW and her family. Praying for your interview tomorrow, Tasja, and for MTGAA and all on this thread.

Thank you Lord for the lovely prayer times ds1 and I are sharing at bed time, and for all the love and care that people have been showing each other this week during the floods. It has been fantastic to see how people have rallied around and looked after each other.

God bless all.

hello, just a quick one! I have come down with a horrid horrid cold...never mind, I am huddled up in the sofa reading "The Cross and the Switchbalde" by David Wilkerson, a really inspiring story about his ministry among teenage street gangs in new York city in the 50s. A cold is a great excuse to sit and read, eh? The dc keep bringing me blankets and pictures they've made - they are playing beautifully together so thank you God!

Anyway, my bro has a job interview this morning. It would be great for him to get the job - the only downside being that it is a 1 hr bus-ride away from where he lives (he doesn't drive). It is a 6 month contract tho, so it could buy him the time to look for a long term job closer to home. Please could you pray for him!

Things are much better between dh and me. He is seeing Occupational Health today re. stress-type issues. Please pray for him too, that God would enfold dh in His love and peace.

good morning all,

just to let you know that I am still alive - all be it a slightly lesser version of myself than I have enjoyed in past months!

H and I were trying yet again after he pledged to give up on the drink - that lasted all of about 4 days so I have now decided NEVER AGAIN!!

The boys are great - DS1 finished his first year at school last week. He got an excellent report and a Governers award so thank you God for guiding him well through this time. DS2 is growing ever more cheeky by the day but who would want a child without character eh?!!

Praying for everyone as ever.

God Bless you all

xxxxx

Aw, how lovely to hear from you MTGAA! I am so sorry to hear that things didn't work out with your dh. I do hope that it has not left you feeling more bruised by the experience, but rather feeling that you have really really tried everything. Great to hear about ds1s success at school, and ds2s cheekiness too. Cheery cheeky second children survive well in life, IME!

God bless all.

Hullo DO. Boy.

And no, everyone, I'm not expecting!!!

Report
DutchOma · 26/07/2007 19:41

Sorry,NQGU I didn't realise that might be an implication. How's the tonsillitis?

Lovely to hear from MTGNA, sorry to hear that things did not work out between you and H and that you are on your own again. Lovely to hear about the boys doing so well.

Anybody heard from OnlyJoking concerning the result of the scan?

That's OK, DO. I was smiling at the thought - with a kind of fixed grin, it has to be said. I just don't have enough energy to go there again!

We are feeling much brighter, thank you. (Not the royal we! DS1 had it too!) However, it meant that we are reading Harry Potter a bit more quickly than we might have.

Prayers for all. God bless.

Its about time we had another baby on this thread anyway!

mtgaa - sorry things didn't work out

Report
CaptainCaveman · 26/07/2007 21:00

Ah, I'd willingly oblige you with another baby but dh says I have to wait til next year - oh well, not that long now eh!? I do have 2 friends expecting within 4 days of each other - end Jan/early Feb.....

Thanks DO for new thread.

Thank You God for my increasing peace of mind and general chilled-out-ness . I didn't get the job but am pleased because the interview went well and the feedback was really positive. I'm totally trusting of God in His plans for me so I know it wasn't meant to be.

C'mon Sooz, where are you?!

Mary, are you coming to Notts on your own? and does the excess water (ie rain!) make any difference to your white water rafting?

Report
MaryBS · 26/07/2007 21:15

CCM - DH and the children will be coming too. I'm not too sure about the rain implications, might make it a bit faster and the course bigger... we're in wetsuits anyway, so a little more water shouldn't cause any problems I wouldn't have though...

DH has heard a rumour he may be about to be promoted. Fuelled by the fact he's been invited to a "special lunch with the directors", the middle of September. Am praying for God's grace in all this that whatever happens will be the best for us!

Was witness to a v. scary road rage incident today. As they blocked the road, I was stuck behind them, but I thought it was going to turn really nasty and they might turn on me as well as I was nearest witness. Thank God it ended without anyone getting hurt.

Report
DutchOma · 26/07/2007 22:13

Oh Mary that sounds very worrying, glad no-one got hurt.
Good to now that the NQGU household is getting better and are still keeping their feet dry.

Good morning - The madness continues in DippyLand - we're supposed to be going on holiday to Cornwall tomorrow - not even started thinking about packing yet! Please pray all goes smoothly and I don't get too stressed - v.anxious and panic-y atm; which is hard .....

Glad you and DS1 are feeling better now NQGU and that your feet are dry too! Glad that you are feeling positive about the way everyone has helped each other during this uncertain time - is lovely when that happens, isn't it!!?

Yuk to horrid cold rosey, but to your sweet children! How are you feeling today?? Praying for your Bro re: job - hoping it is a stepping stone to something more permenant and closer to home if he does get it - Do let us know.

GREAT to see you mtgaa! I am that you had to go through that all again with your DH; but I am glad it has taught you a lesson (in a good, positive way - not wagging fingers here!!) .... Praying that you can have a good relationship with him in the future, while keeping an approproate distance. Must be tough, I greatly admire you hon! God is holding your precious family. Glad they boys are good! Agree with NQGU about cheeky, sunny 2nd children!

Hi Fellow Captain - sorry you didn't get the job, but pleased you are trusting in God for your needs ....

Oooooh, promotion for DH Mary!!!! Doesn't he already have quite a high-powered, stressful job, hon? How are you and him feeling about that?? Exciting nonetheless ..... Scary about the Road Rage - I know exactly how that feels, having been the victim of some myself only a few weeks back ... glad it resolved without any violence etc .....

Soooo much to dooooo .......

Praying for happy packing and a happy hols for the Dippies and for all on this thread.

Have just been on the 'phone to the Lovely Sooz - absolute mayhem in her house - her twins sound v.fiesty - I spoke to her little DS1 who told me about how he had "a lot of blood" after a wrestling match with his sister last week .... they ended up in A & E, but the damage wasn't much and they were allowed home, bless 'em.....

She is absolute fine, her computer is broken!! It is currently with the "Computer Dr" and should hopefully be fixed & back with her soon; but if not, she'll be going computer shopping with her nephew and getting a new one in the next few weeks.

I've got her mobile no now so can keep her abreast of stuff here and get updates from her end too ......
