This thread is a safe space where anyone - regular, occasional visitor, lurker, committed Christian or waverer - is welcome to come and leave their prayers in the knowledge that they will be prayed for. No problem is too big or small to share here, and if you just want to come and say 'hi', that's fine too.

Looking back through our previous thread, we pray in particular for:

abbsismyhero - for help with her anxiety and relationship with an abusive ex.

amberlight - for her work supporting people with autism, and for health and happiness for her and her family.

Aphie - for her fiancé's family following the sudden death of his uncle, and for her anxiety.

BlackEyedSusan - for all that she has to juggle as a single mum, for her DC, and for her mum.

Bluetinkerbell - five years on from the loss of her baby DD, Sterre.

Cocoa button - for issues around the safety of her DS2.

Dontbesilly - for strength as she grieves the loss of her dad, for her mum and the rest of her family, for her DD's school issues, and for Dont's own health.

drspouse - for full recovery from a recent chest infection and for happiness and a warm welcome in her new church.

DutchOma - with gratitude for all she does to support people on this thread and elsewhere, and for her to find peace and joy in her life following the loss of her beloved Bob.

EdithSimcox - for her to find joy and fulfilment in her faith and understanding and support from her DP.

ethelb - for her MIL who has blood clots in her leg and suspected sarcoma, and for all who love and care for her.

FaithLoveandHope - for her anxiety and depression to lift and for her to be able to avoid falling into despair and self-harm, and for her relationship with her DSD.

greyscalealmond - for her depression to be alleviated and for family relationships.

HardyLeodicean - especially for her FIL and for a recently-bereaved friend.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece - for her friend's pregnancy.

LarrytheCucumber - for family members involved in fostering and adoption, for the DC involved, and for their birth parents and all involved in their ongoing care.

LifeofBriony - for her relationship with her DH and for her DD's friend, J, who is in a coma after a seizure.

LittleBootsTheBabe - for healing and happiness for an acquaintance of hers.

MadHairDay - for her health, and for her whole family at a time of change and uncertainty.

Malefriendproblem - for her relationship with an old friend which has turned sour, and for her DD who suffers from anxiety.

Newmamatobe - for her new life with her baby DD and free of alcohol.

niminypiminy - who will be ordained very soon.

passportmess - for her friend who has schleroderma.

Paulat2112 - for friends who are experiencing relationship difficulties.

PositiveAttitude - for her whole family, but especially her DD1 who has been depressed, her pregnant DD2, her mum and dad, her DH and his work. Above all, we pray for PA herself, who is always there for others when they need her, for her studies, and for a potential house-move.

QoF - for her relationship with her DH.

SESthebrave - for all who are grieving over the loss of a friend from church, for work-related decision-making, and for the friend who was Best Man at her wedding whose relationship has broken down following his wife's infidelity.

SouthernLassie - for her relationship with a colleague.

sweetandsour - for her auntie who has been diagnosed with cancer, and for her mum and all who love and care for her auntie.

Teallove - for her to feel free to move on following the breakdown of a relationship.

Trazzletoes - for her 6-year-old DS who has previously had cancer and who is now unwell again - praying for a swift (and hopefully reassuring) diagnosis and for Trazzletoes and all who love him at this worrying time.

Tweebee - for her DS to settle at nursery.

And also thinking of friends who haven't visited for a while, who who pop in only occasionally, including ALittleFaith, Anjelica27, Kaykat, JugglingFromHereToThere, ktef, legohurtswhenyoustandonit, Pandora97, shortscotty, weegiemum and others.

And, as always, prayers for anyone I've forgotten (with apologies), for all who lurk but don't post, and for newbies who may not have posted yet.

This prayer was posted by Edith on the old thread, and I really like it and would like it to stand for what this new thread is all about:

All that we are, Lord,
we place into your hands.
All that we do, Lord,
we place into your hands.

Everything we work for,
we place into your hands.
Everything we hope for,
we place into your hands.

The troubles that weary us,
we place into your hands.
Thoughts that disturb us,
we place into your hands.

Each that we pray for,
we place into your hands.
Each that we care for,
we place into your hands. Amen

Thank you very much TUO. I would add Barefootcook who came onto the prayer thread to pray for *Trazzletoes^. They became friends when Joe was first ill and is a long way away.

BlackeyedSusan Wed 22-Jun-16 07:31:14

good morning...

remembering jan too. who used to be on here regularly. hoping church is more supportive and ex is less of a pain

and don't step on the momeraths any news on the diagnosis process yet?

passportmess Wed 22-Jun-16 13:37:53

Thank you too Tuo. I think Joe had tests yesterday. I hope they went well.

Orchidflower1 Wed 22-Jun-16 13:41:47

Please keep me in your prayers I need support with anxiety and dark thoughts. Also that My dh is supportive and not so cross

Dontbesilly Wed 22-Jun-16 16:16:54

Faith. Hoping your session went well. You will get through this and come out of the other side.

Prayers Orchid for both you in coping with your anxiety and dark thoughts and your dh in that he can be more supportive. We are here if you need us.

BES when is your celebration meal for being supermum? Surely that is more deserving than a meal for getting a job in my book. You get annual leave and payment for your efforts in a job yet you don't have any breaks and no financial reward being a single parent, although I appreciate that you get far greater reward for being mum to your dc and knowing that you do your absolute best for them and they love and appreciate you. That's worth more than gold, however your well overdue your celebration meal for the job of supermum in my opinion. Anyway have some winecake from me.

My back is much better today. That will teach me to lift tubs full of compost without bending my knees blush. My orchids are looking lovely still. I must be doing something right and they are easier to lift grin

Tuo, thanks for the new thread and the lovely prayer as usual. It's really kind of you to organise this and I appreciate it, especially as you are so busy.

How is the little boy who was having more tests to see if cancer had returned? Any news? His poor parents must be desperate with worry. I am praying for the family for peace and comfort as they wait for news and for the little boy for everything to be ok and for him to be happy and pain-free. Gid bless them.

Prayers for everyone else too.

bend ze neeees, bend ze neees... don't.

[pot kettle black] slouching in church and can't stand up superstar.

FaithLoveandHope Wed 22-Jun-16 21:21:08

Tuo thank you very much for the wonderful round up as usual smile

The counselling session was very difficult. We spoke about some really difficult topics and I dissociated as I was talking as my mind just couldn't handle thinking about it. We ran out of time so will have another split session but our plan is to have a joint session and then a split session another week. I saw the primary mental health team today. I've been referred to a psychiatrist for a medication review and being sent on a course. They don't think counselling will help (?) Because I've paid for some privately and they think that's enough. I'm not sure how I feel at the moment. Exhausted but it'd be a miracle if I could actually switch off enough to sleep.

On a positive note DSD was amazing this evening. I feel like I was really grumpy with her at times but just before leaving she gave me a cuddle and then came back for a second one before giving me two kisses. She's never ever kissed me before, it made my heart melt!

Dutchoma Wed 22-Jun-16 22:25:40

O Faith bless you dsd. It is so wonderful when they unbend enough to show affection.
There is a lot of positives in your post. Some negative, but more positive. Can you try to remember that God loves you 'whatever'? Try and rest under the shadow of His almighty wing.
Thanks for the update.

Tuo Wed 22-Jun-16 22:35:49

Aww, Faith, she must've picked up on how low you were feeling and known that you needed that extra love. What a lovely relationship you seem to have with her.

Praying for Trazzletoes and her little boy tonight. Will you update us if you hear anything, Oma?

And welcome Orchid, praying for some relief for your anxiety and for RL support for you from your DH and others. As others have said, we are here for you if you need to offload.

This thread is apolitical, and rightly so, but I am anxious about tomorrow's referendum so want to pray tonight for all who will vote tomorrow to use their vote wisely and in accordance with what they truly believe to be for the best. I pray for politicians and civil servants in the UK and in the rest of Europe that they will respond to whatever the outcome may be in a careful and considered way, without point-scoring or back-biting. And I pray for love and understanding between countries and their citizens, in the UK, in the rest of Europe, and beyond. May we all remember, in the words of Jo Cox, MP, that we have far more in common that that which divides us. And I pray too today for the family of Jo Cox and for all who knew her, loved her, and worked with her. Praying in the hope of a peaceful tomorrow...

EdithSimcox Wed 22-Jun-16 23:41:23

Thank you tuo for the roundup, and for including that prayer. I had forgotten it already; lovely to see it there.

Prayers for you all; I think of you all often and lurk and pray even when I'm not posting. I am really working on my spiritual formation (slightly pompous term but I'm sure you know what I mean!) and on saving my relationship - slightly incompatible goals but where there's a will...

Praying also tonight for Brendan Cox and all Jo's friends and family (including an ex of mine who was a great friend of hers), and praying that somehow the outpouring of love that we have seen in response to her murder translates into some real change in the way we conduct political discourse in this country. And for the right (ahem) result in the referendum tomorrow.

passportmess Thu 23-Jun-16 14:01:28

Edith prayers for your spiritual formation journey and I hope you can work things out with your dp. flowers

Orchidflower1 Thu 23-Jun-16 14:57:20

Thanks all for making me welcome. Dh is more open so prayers helping thanks. Continuing to pray for my MH , those who have MH issues and for greater understanding of MH issues.

BlackeyedSusan Thu 23-Jun-16 15:05:27

please pray for us as ds has pe/sport/afterschool evening thing and is away from home for over 12 hours, and there is potential for a hell of a meltdown.

Orchidflower1 Thu 23-Jun-16 16:07:02

Hey * black eye * praying for you and the family x

BlackeyedSusan Thu 23-Jun-16 21:02:01

he is watching ethe washing the washing machine, had his toast but still needs to bath and tea and read his reading book. non of which can be missed out. ahh the joys of autism.

Orchidflower1 Thu 23-Jun-16 21:21:58

You are home safely now - can you do book/ bath in am or does that break the routine?

BlackeyedSusan Thu 23-Jun-16 22:20:29

has to be all in the right order. and softly softly otherwise all hell breaks loose.

passportmess Fri 24-Jun-16 09:20:53

Praying for calm this morning, given all the uncertainty politically and financially. Praying for wisdom and restraint as we all muddle along.

Dutchoma Fri 24-Jun-16 10:20:11

The Lord is our rock and our salvation.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are saved.

passportmess Fri 24-Jun-16 10:37:07

It would be helpful if there was coffee in that tower too as well as God's loving presence, Dutchoma

BlackeyedSusan Fri 24-Jun-16 12:20:36

I would say I have wasted quite a bit of time this morning doing not a lot at all, but chasing runaway preschoolers and returning them to carer is not a waste. bloody hell they can run fast. thank God the child stopped when I shouted stop as they were heading off to the pavement/road.

Dutchoma Fri 24-Jun-16 14:46:56

Not your preschooler I presume?

BlackeyedSusan Fri 24-Jun-16 18:29:31

no, mine are all in school. (both that should be, ds feels like more than just one)

they have a sing-a long session on a friday morning. one escaped.

BlackeyedSusan Fri 24-Jun-16 18:43:54

you can not really ignore a young children running towards the road without an adult (yes more than one from two families, the other one turned a corner into a safer area ) they were let out the room, crossed tthe library. paused at the door when the librarian told them not to go out the door. then suddenly took off up the path. the library is set back from the road thank God.
