Welcome to our new prayer thread for summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.
We pray, in particular, for...
... ALittleFaith, for her dad to recover well after his recent operation;
... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;
... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt, and also for her decision about her DS's schooling, and for his health;
... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for health for both her DC, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

thankyou. you have done a brilliant job. we can all stop shuffling our feet on the floor, and trying to avoid one anothers eyes now in case we get volunteered!
Thankyou TUo brilliant round up as usual, but you missed out a certain lovely lady called Tuo ... how are you at the moment?
Praying for oma today.
Hello there, just to update you I had the rescan today and the news was not good. Very little growth since last week and no heartbeat anymore.
I would appreciate prayers now as I face the inevitable. Thankyou for prayers this week, I did feel calm this morning. At least I was prepared and at least I know where I am now. It's making me realise how lucky I am to have my 2 DCs.
Tuo, thank you for the new thread.
Keeping each of you in prayers -and IWantDogger - just such sad news for you...
Oh darling IwantDogger, what sad news. Prayers that your calm can be maintained and that you feel carried in the love of God
did they give you any pain relief advice IWant? make sure you have some paracetamol etc available. ((hugs))
IwantDogger - I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.
Oma - praying for you today too.
Thanks for asking about me, MHD. I am OK. A bit tired and
hormonal emotional, but I am coming to the end of a three-year stint in a big role at work, and I need to just get through the next three weeks (which will be manic) and then I can have a proper rest, before moving on to the next thing. I am going to be spending the next year or so mostly on MN writing, which will be wonderful, and I'm hoping to spend a month or so in the US in the Spring, as long as I can persuade DH that he'll be OK as a single parent for a few weeks...! Prayers for energy and efficiency in these last few weeks would be appreciated. Thank you!
Dogger so sorry and praying for you.
Tuo sounds like you have an exciting time ahead. Praying for you. And am in awe of your round up abilities!
Oh I'm sorry IwantDogger. Praying for comfort and peace in this difficult time
Thank you for the new thread Tuo.
My Dad is making a good recovery. He has more energy and more colour. I am very relieved!
we are off out. school closed due to strike! yay!
I'm so sorry Iwantdogger Prayers for you at this sad time.
Tuo that's sounding exciting! Definitely keeping you in my prayers as you consider the year ahead but also feel a bit mixed up about the role you are in coming to an end.
I am thinking of organising a meet-up in Northampton. Have a look here and see what you think.
MaryBS and I had a day together, it was lovely.
dd is looking pale and slightly blueish.
ds is looking very blue and yellow and pink and green.
we did face painting and it is not coming off so easily. oops!
Tomorrow morning (Friday)I am having my tooth out. I will be pleased when it is gone as it is causing me problems, but anyone who "knows" me here will know that I am the biggest woos out when it comes to the dentist. I know I will be tossing and turning all night and thinking about everything that can possibly go wrong.
Please pray for me to stay calm and for it to be a painless easy think tomorrow. Thank you.
Praying for you PA I know that feeling only too well.
Lurking and praying. Great round up TUO.
I'd love to come to a meet up but I'm afraid it is just too far south for me to manage. Have a lovely day.
PA - ouch. Bet after all the worrying it'll be over in no time.
Praying for all tonight, but especially for PA. I know that feeling too and no-one, but no-one, is wussier than me! When I am in the dentist's chair, I repeat the 'Jesus Prayer' over and over (in my head): it's reassuring and the repetition is peaceful somehow.
From tonight's Northumbria Compline:
May the Father of heaven
have care of our souls,
His loving arm about our bodies,
through each slumber
and sleep of our lives. Amen.
Tooth is out. Dentist was lovely! It wasn't too bad, although definitely not on my list of favourite things to have done. I now cannot open my mouth, so I cant talk. I was shaking like a leaf all through it and as soon as she had the tooth out I was blubbing like a baby - not because it hurt, but because I was so relieved it was all over. Phew!!!
Tuo I couldn't even remember your prayer, despite it being so simple, but a repeated "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" seemed to work, too.
iwantdogger im so sorry to hear of your sad news
tuo how exciting getting to go to spend time in the US i love it there
PA so glad you are ok after the dentist - not much fun at all!
ive got a cough i think its in my chest been up coughing every night for a couple of weeks now. met up with dh to discuss contact arrangements and he persuaded me to give things another go. you get used to one thing happening (divorce) and now trying to get my head round the latest. i know ball in my court, but i feel more peace about giving us another chance.
