All religions leading to one road/path

I think I might be in the minority here and maybe my eyes have been opened a little differently. But whenever I have looked into various religious scriptures they all seem to say one thing to me but the interpretations that I am given by people of that faith seems to be quite different. Although I'm not Catholic or Christian or really of any faith it just looking through the Bible I can't help but notice so many references to mysticsm and the meditative state. Same with Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic tradions.

Am I the only one who thinks like this. Any meditators out there with realisations they have gained through meditation i.e. not bookish knowledge.

I think I came to that conclusion partly through life experiences and partly through learning meditative practices on a multi-faith course.

I should say, a course which was deliberately inclusive of all faiths and also of belief systems such as humanism and atheism.

Yes. The way is always inwards, never outwards. I believe we are all one, all the same, and this is also a knowing via meditative practise and other energy work - we are all from the same place...until we get to earth.

Do we have to have reached this realisation through meditation?

I thought it was pretty obvious that all three Abrahamic religions, at the very least, talk about more or less the same people and the same God.

You might be interested to hear that Islam clearly says that it is the same God who has "sent" Moses/Judaism, Jesus/Christianity, and Mohammad/Islam.
