My friend is really into it and says it works for her. I'm a bit skeptical.
So I'm asking the lovely vipers people of MN to help me with a completely unscientific experiment.
Place your cosmic order, think positive and we'll see who gets what they asked for.

FrigginRexManningDay Sat 24-Aug-13 14:58:24

Well I wrote down about the house, about the decor in each room,I'm going to think positively and imagine myself there already.

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 15:09:41

Good going Friggin remember to concentrate on what you do want (not what you don't) and don't get anxious about when or if it will happen. That will only delay things. If you ordered something from a catalogue you don't keep phoning them asking when it's coming, you just expect it.
It will come.

SoftKittyWarmKitty Sat 24-Aug-13 15:10:37

Thanks for the forum suggestions, I'll check them out. In the time since I first posted on this thread I've been to the library and taken out four books on cosmic ordering, positivity and changing your life. Can't wait to get stuck in.

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 15:13:57

Soft you can sign up to Netflix for a free 30 day trial and if you go on there you can watch the film The Secret which explains it all. It's a good place to start and very positive (if a little woo) and will get you in the right frame of mind!

BreconBeBuggered Sat 24-Aug-13 15:14:39

The thing I mentioned wanting to order upthread? You'll never guess...

somebody with the same name as me has got it. Not joking. Not funny, cosmos. You can still come up with the goods for me, though, right?

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 15:19:36

What was it you wanted?

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 15:21:10

It was an event on Monday?
Why can't you go?

BreconBeBuggered Sat 24-Aug-13 15:21:49

It was a ticket/invitation to something...can't really say now that I've whinged about the name. Nobody would confuse us in real life.

BreconBeBuggered Sat 24-Aug-13 15:22:26

Oh, and it's not something I could buy.

MikeOxard Sat 24-Aug-13 15:24:18

Universe, I should like the following:
A private education for my children
In the event that the above is not free, I'd like the means to pay for it
A large, nice house in a lovely area (see above wtf financing)
Mortgage paid off (c. £190,000)
To win the top lottery jackpot

...I'll let you know how I get on hmm grin

SoftKittyWarmKitty Sat 24-Aug-13 15:28:17

I've read 'The Secret' SirRaymond and found it interesting but I've forgotten lots of it and don't have the book any more to refer to. Are you meant to just 'ask' for things in your head? Or write them down? Is there a certain way of asking?

Off to get stuck into the library books now.

TerribleTantrums Sat 24-Aug-13 15:37:27

I would like my friend to have far less stress and strife in her life, I worry about her.

I would like an amicable separation.

I would like to meet up with a particular person who could be helpful to my possible future career but whose email address I wrote down wrongly.

AmIthatHot Sat 24-Aug-13 15:42:23

There was a similar thread on here last Christmas-ish

I recently found the list I did. None of it has happened

I didn't want much either but it seems even the cosmos couldn't give a fuck about me

Tee2072 Sat 24-Aug-13 16:19:29

Believe it or not. But:

Keep asking. Once is rarely enough.
Don't forget to laugh. When you ask the universe 'can I have some money?' and you find 20p on the sidewalk? Laugh, shrug and thank it.

Stillhopingstillhere Sat 24-Aug-13 16:36:40

Can I order a baby and a cure for diabetes?

Where do I place my order? grin

Tee2072 Sat 24-Aug-13 16:39:36

You can always ask, Still. I usually ask while cooking or washing dishes.

BellaDesconocida Sat 24-Aug-13 16:55:34

Does it work if you order something for someone else?

squoosh Sat 24-Aug-13 19:20:33

I do find that writing down a concise list of things I want/things I want to achieve and re-reading it at frequent intervals really does work in terms of focussing my mind. Not sure it has anything to do with the cosmos though! Although, I recently had an unexpected bill for £800 which fecked up my budget majorly somewhat. I sent out a mental prayer for money to cover it and I did receive £799 (exactly) from an unexpected source, so who knows!

Love the idea that one can 'cosmic order' a date with one's hottest celeb, have to say that's one I haven't yet tried grin

<writes list with Ryan Gosling, Lars Mikkelsen and Idris Elba on it. Shaves legs, puts on best knickers and waits>

NutcrackerFairy Sat 24-Aug-13 20:05:17

Raymond was your celebrity Russell Brand? He is an egotistical bellend, seems to fit the profile wink

Right-O back to Cosmic Ordering -

Universe I am so happy now that I have a wonderful four bedroom house with a lovely large garden in gorgeous surroundings.

I am so happy that I have lovely friends around me and plenty of time to socialise with them.

I have a career that makes me happy and brings me a good income, enough to meet all my needs.

DH also is happy and feels valued in his career. He is earning double what he used to and works less hours too.

My three children are all well and happy.

I am fit and healthy with a slim waist.

Raymond, Have I worded this right?? Is there anything I should add or delete? I really really want all these things to happen asap!

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 20:06:26

Before I was a married lady I 'ordered' a few men that I fancied and was fairly specific in my demands grin
but it was just that one celeb and it was me that ended it with him. He just didn't turn out how I expected him to. I kind of learned a lesson there!
But hey go for it! Why not? Someone has to go out with these people don't they? wink

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 20:14:35

Nutcracker Ha! No!! I did get once introduced to him and I can report that he smelled pretty badly of BO.

The wording on your list is good although you might need to be more specific in some areas. Like for your DH salary - he is earning £X amount (rather than double of what he used to - that's alluding to what you don't want)
And what will you deem a 'good' income or a slim waist.
Write your list in a little book and really enjoy each item on the list. Visualise, get excited. Kind of play act like you have all these things in your life. Feel like they are already there. Also helps to write a list of all the things you are grateful about in your life and feel good about them.
They say 'Have an attitude of gratitude' it puts you on the right frequency.
You have to imagine that you are a magnet attracting more of what you are putting out, so feel wealthy, feel good about your lovely 4 bed house etc.
Have fun with it! smile

NutcrackerFairy Sat 24-Aug-13 20:31:15

Thanks Raymond.

I will get the little book and do all the things you suggest.

I am feeling the gratitude and believing that I have ordered all these things via the Universe, just have to wait for them to arrive!

Zoidberg Sat 24-Aug-13 20:38:40

I think it works. Six or seven years ago I made a collage of all the things I liked the idea of in my life and stuck it inside my wardrobe door where I look at it every day. Pretty much everything on there I now have (including a cat that I didn't actually mean to get but as it was on the pic so it happened). Wish I had thought bigger grin - keep wondering about doing another one, but there are 2 areas yet to transpire.

mablemurple Sat 24-Aug-13 21:03:37

Are you being serious? If this actually did work, then presumably there would be no starvation in the world - I would imagine all those people really really want food, picture it, imagine it happening to them or whatever it is you've convinced yourself you have to do to get what you want.
Or is the cosmos only interested in helping people in the developed world get a nice car?

SirRaymondClench Sat 24-Aug-13 21:05:54

Zoidberg in the Secret they call those collages a Vision board.
Like the lists in my book they are a great way of seeing how far you have come and that it works.
Make another!
