Planning our Easter end of term service.

Hi. We have a new HT who has asked me to plan our school Easter service with y5 and 6, so that they will plan it, lead it, do the readings etc. I am to take next Monday to do it. The service will be about 30 minutes and held in the village church (so no ICT). It is a church school.

I have some ideas - I wondered about maybe basing to on Lord of The Dance, using verses in sections to tell the story - but I am hoping that the collective world on MN could give me some ideas about suitable readings, songs, hymns, activities, etc, which might be far better than mine.

Using Lord of the Dance sounds like a really good idea. There is a good website here which might give you some ideas: www.assemblies.org.uk

Or ask the vicar for assembly resources and see what you can recycle.

Our vicar (whispers and hopes not to be recognised) is less than creative. But the assemblies website is a good idea.
