I am holding Girl Piggy and after some stroking she starts flipping her head up which the rescue place said means - more, more.

I'm not sure what nibbling my bracelet, biting my arm and then chewing on my jeans mean..

That should have been Guinea Pig of course.

Well, we had a lovely cuddle for about half an hour, she let me feed her some grass, and then she weed on mehmmgrin.

Does that mean she has accepted me as her mummy now? grin

Ah she must love you!!!

You're pigs sound like they are settling in.

I've always been told though that if they are headbutting(lifting their heads up) if means that they don't like it hmm

My GP used to love sitting on my knee and me tickling his belly through the towel, he used to starting squeaking and laying on his back for me to do it more LOL.

FabBakerGirlIsBack Fri 18-Sep-09 15:49:14

Oh heck Lovemyshoes. She definitely said it means they want more of it. I will have to investigate, would hate to upset her.

I have to go now and wash my guinea pig wee jeans hmm.

I thought too that if they headbut you they mean enough. I normally just move onto stroking their back when they do this. The weeing calms down as they get older but they do still poo when sitting on your knee

Headbutting means they dont like it - definitely! The rescue place is wrong - sorry.

Pyrocanthus Fri 18-Sep-09 21:33:01

I thought that too, Lovemyshoes - our female does that if you stroke her head and I'm pretty sure she means 'geroff me 'ead'. (She's not very refined).

The weeing means she needed to go! She's investigating the things she's nibbling and seeing if they're worth eating.

What a lot of guinea pig threads! Great stuff.

They are having their first play on the patio today to keep their claws in check. So far, they have snuggled up in the hay in their log cabin and hid. grin.

DS1 is desperate for them to do something else.

I thought that the headbutting thing meant no more please, but it's easiest to avoid that by not stroking their heads too much. You'll get used to the wee - and ours have got used to holding it in for atleast ten/fifteen minutes whilst on our knees. For a while the pigs wont do much else than hide, as it's all still very new for them. Anyway, keep posting!

I won't be able to cuddle them today as I have a really bad cold but DH is here and he can out them out for their play time and fresh air.

Just gone out to put my piggies in their run and they were snuggled up in their bed together and not nose to tail like they are normally in the run grin.
