rehoming my rabbits - tell me i'm doing the right thing

I have two rabbits. Have had 2 rabbits in one shape or form since 1999. But now I also have a 2 year old and another baby on the way.

I'm finding it hard to cope with looking after them and while they have a lovely run in the garden, apart from cleaning and feeding them, I have very little time with them anymore.

My husband hates being asked to help with them and thinks we should get rid of them. I told this to my sister and within a week she had found someone who wanted them! It all went so fast!!

Now while I appreciate that someone else could probably take a lot better care of them than me at the moment, I'm feeling terrible for giving them away and a bit hurt at my DH who wants me to.

Help me feel better about giving them away...please...?

Doesn't help that my DS is currently outside talking to and stroking the rabbits while they're out in their run

i wouldn't give them away there low maintenance really and surely your 2 yr old likes them and can help you soon enough even simple such as holding water bottle etc in summer you and children will be in garden and you can stroke and pet them still they'd probably be happy enough in there run chewing grass

But I'm only just managing to keep them clean and don't even feel like I'm doing that very well most of the time. And once new baby arrives in the winter, they'll be in all the time and lucky if I can even manage cleaning!!

I have 2 rabbits and 3 baby rabbits. I am also pregnant, have an 8 month old, 3 year old and 4 year old. I find the time to clean them out. I dont mean to be twatty, but i cant tell you you are doing the right thing based on not being able to clean them out.

However if you really arent coping with them, and a home is lined up, then thats fair enough, the guilt will pass.
