Ours have come inside for the winter and I occasionally hear one of them (not sure which) make a strange explosive squeak. Not noticed it before. Do your pigs cough or sneeze.I hope she is not ill.
Yes, ours do occasionally + they are indoor guinea pigs, so I don't think it's the weather that does it, it's more likely to be hay coming into close contact with the nose + mouth.
Keep an eye on them, it prob is hay but they must have daily vitamin C doses as they cannot store it. I have been warned they can catch human colds...maybe someone can verify this?We love our pigs! Will be bringing them in soon.
Have just read they can catch some illnesses cross species. They do have fresh veggies and prepared food, so hope they are OK re vit c.thanks
If you're worried, add some Vit. C to their water. I managed to pass a cold onto one of my lovely (now sadly departed) pigs so they can definitely catch things from us.
Ours have the daily vit c in the water but they still sneeze!I find it's the combination of hay and wood shaving bedding.Ours are indoor pigs too. They only go outside in the summer. They sneeze!
