I hope that our guinea pig isn't going to die over night, :-(

I am worried he will die from shock.

DD1 and DD2 were feeding the rabbit and guinea some dandelion leaves then DD2 opened the hutch despite being told never to open it when our dog (greyhound) is out there.

He jumped straight into the hutch and picked up the guinea pig. Luckily dropped it as soon as i shouted. I dragged him inside then went back to retrieve the guinea from its hiding place under the hutch.

Luckily the dogs tooth had only marked the surface of guineas skin and not pierced it.(phew) And she looks ok.

But i assume for a small animal that the shock could kill it.

Can't blame the dog, it is in his breed to chase small animals.

Please send lots of positive thoughts to toffee the guinea.

If you can, keep him warm and quiet - that will help with shock.
If he's still poorly tomorrow I'd consult a vet in case of internal injuries.
