We are taking ownership of a lovely Welsh Sec D tomorrow. He's 4 years old. Just been backed and has never had a name.

He has his registered name which is a mouthful so I'd like to find him a lovely pet name that suits his very calm, affectionate nature. Perhaps with a hint of Welshness??

My 3 DDs have come up with several but none that we all like.

The current faves are-

Tango

Tizer

Woody

Zac

and Leo.

Any suggestions gladly considered.

Boyo?! Only joking. I'm not a horsey person so not good with horse names - beautiful horse tho. Hope you find a name you all like.

Aww, spent the best years of my teenage life devoted to a welsh sec D called Rob. My friend loaned his sister who was called Liz(the man who named them wasn't terribly exciting).

I like Woody.

For a bit of welshness, how about Bryn,Gwyn,Dai or LLewelyn (lewie for short)?

Thanks for your many suggestions. I'll have to run them all by the panel in the morning.

So far I'm loving Jones, Rory, Trevallion, Bryn and William but can't use that one.

All the names I love, the DDs hate and vice versa.

I like proper names, hence we have a dog called Ernie and a cat called Ralph whereas the kids have called the rabbits Sweetie and Missy Wiggles!

Ah, he is the image of a Welsh Sec D that MIL had. He was put to sleep last year aged 34yrs. She had him since he was 8. His name was Ben.
