Goldfish help needed please.....

Hi. I brought DD a goldfish from the fair a few months ago. We brought it one of those plastic round fish bowls. The water gets dirty really quickly and sometimes the fish will gulp air at the top.

Yesterday I brought it a new tank, it's about 17 litres but still quite small, has a filter too. I now need to find a new home for it as it needs to be near a plug! I am debating whether or not I take it back and get an orb one (the round ones) but just the little one or keep this one? Are the orb ones any good?

Thanks for your advice!

We had same problem with dirty water in plastic tank.
Spoke to the pet shop and she said she cleans hers out once a month !
I was doing it twice a week. She asked how often i was feeding them which was everyday.
This was the reason it was getting dirty so quickly she advised to feed them a couple of times a week and we now find it only needs cleaning twice a month!

OP - do you mean you can't keep the 17l tank or just need to relocate it in your house?
Goldfish really do need to be in a filtered tank as they are quite messy.
If the orb tanks you refer to are Biorb or similar, then plenty of people are vey happy with them, but don't have one myself.
And agree with lilyloo that fish often don't need feeding as much as you think, and if you are doing it every day then it really has to be only a tiny amount.
