Where can I buy giant snails?

DS is obsessed.

Do they make good pets? Obviously I am not planning on cuddling them / taking them for walks.

Normal pet shops don't seem to have them.

I'm in Reading if anyone knows anywhere specific!

find somewhere that sells reptiles.

We have snakes and Ds does ask about the snails but they are not for me. when he is old enough and mature enough to care for them solely then he can have them but not until.

But yes i know plentyof people that keep them and they are a good low impact, minimum effort pet really.

someone on MN was giving them away a while ago - there was a certain amount of from some posters because the snails get sent through the post.
might be worth a search in the pets topic.

hello, im hennipenni's dd and i have 3 snails
Get in touch with your local kids farm and they may have some up for sale, that where i got mine from. You can also get them from brixton market in london but that isn't recomended unless you know how to treat many differant types of didease
people also sell them here: www.petsnails.proboards3.com

thanks

Oh thanks hennipenni's dd!!

And I have found that thread and contacted the mner who still has some snails!

Personally I think they are rather yuck but I know ds will love them.

Watch out if you have more than one, they can have LOTS of babies in one batch.

We have 2 snails are they are quite big now, easy to maintain and look after.
