Dog/child friendly car with decent acceleration - does this exist?

I need to replace my Mitsubishi Spacewagon. I chose it as it seats 5 humans comfortably with dogs in the back but 7 humans if needed (with dogs left at home), is not as high as MPVs and drives pretty well. What on earth can I get now that meets those criteria? Any ideas anyone?

New Citroen Picasso C8 (?) does all that. My Mum and Dad have one and I quite like it!

we have a zafira. Not really very quick, but not terrible, the tdi thingy, and has 7 seats without feeling too mpv like.

We've got a Ford S Max 1.9 turbo diesel and it goes like the proverbial off a shovel!

Seats 5 with gallons of space, 7 as long as the rear 2 are children/small adults and has a huge boot with only 5 seats up.

I love it more than one should really love a vehicle

longdeadmum, am also in your situation but filled my lovely lovely diesel audi estate with petrol then drove 100 miles on it and really f'd it up.now have to part ex it and not enough money to get the same.am not getting excited at all about anything. dh and i not singing from same song sheet as environmentally frinedly and safe for baby plus dog is at top of my list but his is just not boring and fast. hence have test driven golf gti which i loved but really questioning how practical and freelander 2 which suprisingly i loved but it doesnt sit well with being a bit eco friendly.

we have a mercedes c240 estate (OLD!) and it is great, its automatic and does accelerate well. Its not the fastest car in the world but its 0-60 in about 8 seconds i think - ok so its hardly a dragster. But it is a lovely comfortable car, accomodating five adults and any number of dogs, depending on size

my dream car however is an audi A6 estate, well A something or other - i NEED one of those, LEM reminds herself to check lottery ticket.

If you it is just 5 adults plus dogs I can heartily recommend a Subaru Legacy estate. We've just replaced our Audi A6 with one and it is fab. Brilliant acceleration (better than the A6) and good mpg in diesel version (dreadful in petrol one). I wasn't keen before we got it (think it looks a bit odd) but it is fantastic to drive so I have changed my view.

Boot not quite as big as the A6, but easily accommodates a springer and a greyhound cross with plenty of room to spare.

Plural dogs!!!

Not strangers in easy access clothing hanging around deserted electricity sub-stations......

We have a Zafira. Guaranteed to beat anyone at the lights. Lots of poke. But doesn't seem to like driving around town in 2nd gear.

riven, it is useful to have decent acceleration in case you ever need to burn some juvenile off at the lights overtake on a single-carriageway road

We have a Subaru Forester that is very child/dog friendly. It has a large boot but will only seat. It is very fast too!
