Cat fleas in home. Please help!

My cat had fleas a few weeks ago and I have had them in my home. They seemed to have got everywhere, lounge, kitchen floor, bathroom and my bedroom. It has been driving me crazy the last few weeks, have been cleaning a lot and been trying to get rid of the annoying things! I have been using Indorex flea spray. I use Advantage spot on on my cat. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any better flea treatments? I have heard that Advantage is quite good. He is due for some more flea treatment next week and I am hoping that things will get better then. I was wondering what others have done when in my situation? I have been hoovering every day, spraying over the sofa, behind the sofa and underneath the sofa. I think things are getting better but I know a flea infestation takes time as I have been in the situation before.

Blast the place with indorex and trip to the vets
