My beautiful boy who is 13 has died at 7pm tonight.
He had a lump and two days ago started vomiting blood /blood coming from his nose.
I kept him comfortable and I went in the bath and he was gone.
I've tucked him in so he is warm and cosy.
I love him so much,I can't cope without him.
He relied on me and I couldn't save him.
He was the loveliest boy in the world.
He's in the living room.
He still has his eyes open,I'm traumatised.
I don't know how I can carry on

I’m so sorry for your loss, they truly become your family. I’m sure he knew how much you loved & cared for him. I’m sorry I don’t know what else to say as it all seems too small a word and I know I will suffer your pain one day too . Hugs & you will be in my thoughts

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I honestly don't know what I will do when this happens to us. He will have known how much you loved him.

I'm so sorry, I really wish I could say more, it doesn't feel enough.
Please remember the love you gave him and the life he had with you, I'm sure you have him the best life he could have had. It's there someone there with you? If not please call a friend or family member to be with you tonight, you don't need to be alone in this xx

Oh love, this was me 2 years ago. I actually posted on mn too (and received amazing support). I honestly felt broken and couldn't see how I'd cope either. My boy was the same age as yours. There isn't anything you could have done, I also tortured myself with the "what ifs". You made him comfortable. He knew you loved him. Grieving is a long process, I still have moments but it does get less painful. I agree with pp's, you don't need to be alone. Look after yourself, sending virtual hugs

Dear OP. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Do you have anyone with you? Or can you call someone?

He sounds like such an amazing dog and was clearly so well loved by you. I’m so sorry.

Oh I'm so sorry. I found it awful having my girl in the house after she had died. I didn't want her to be alone but I didn't want her to be upstairs because I was worried I'd be more likely to forget she had gone.

There is a local Pet crematorium nearby and we took her there straight away. It didn't feel like she was her anymore afterwards either. I did check when we knew she was unwell and they said they are available 24/7, which I did find comforting.

Sending hugs, it is such a horrible time Thanks

By mentioning the crematorium I am also wondering if there may be one near to you that could help before Monday? We used Suffolk Pet Crematorium but I also spoke to Essex Pet Crematorium. Both will cremate with you there for the process of you don't want to leave them too. I found the bit between having lost her and taking her to the crematorium the worst.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It leaves such a big hole when pets die.
You might find it helpful to keep a clipping of some of his hair. Animals' eyes don't close when they die.

So sorry you have lost your darling boy. You clearly loved him very, very much, and I hope in time you can take comfort from the fact you gave him a happy, joyous life full of love. But right now it really hurts, and I’m so sorry for you.

I think the suggestion to take a clipping of fur is a good one. I did this with both my well-loved departed pets, and it has given me comfort, and a way to feel close to them again.

Thank you everyone for your kind words.
I am with my parents.
They came over and are going to stay.
I've got some of his fur.
The pet cremation people are coming over tomorrow and I've selected the teddy bear memorial with his ashes.
I love him so much.
We had so many nice times together.
I've been lying with him tonight after he had gone.
I've just been kissing him and cuddling him.
I miss him already.

I know how you feel OP I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my darling rescue dog on Christmas Eve. I am still grieving and I don't think I will ever stop. I couldn't look at his photo or anything for months and just cried and cried. My DD and I scattered his ashes on one of his favourite beaches and it was beautiful. We love our dogs so much and they give us so much. I bet yours had a wonderful life. Just try to remember all the good happy times. Sending hugs to you tonight.

I totally understand. I lost my cat days ago. My heart is broken. I thought I would never cope but I know now that I will get through this despite the pain.
You need to decide what you will do to commemorate him. I had a private cremation and my baby (cat) is with me now. His ashes. It’s still so shocking and painful but I can see light at the end of this. It’s normal to feel grief.
