Is it time now?

My lovely cat is almost 21. She’s in advanced kidney failure, completely deaf, arthritic and probably senile. She can’t groom herself and resists my attempts (probably due to discomfort from the arthritis). Over the last few days she has started to vomit, is eating very little and hardly drinking. I took her to the vet last week who said we should consider her quality of life when deciding if it is time to PTS.
She still comes for a fuss and can move about, albeit slowly and stiffly. However, I’ve looked at some photos from 2 years ago and was shocked at how different she is now. I think I know in my heart that it’s time but it’s so very hard.

Aw bless her, I think you do know in your heart its time. I know how hard it is, when I lost my old girl aged 18 i was devestated, she'd been a part of our family for so long. But it is said that its hetter a week early than a day too late. It will be the final act of kindness. What a lucky cat to have been so well loved for so long. Thanks

Aw poor soul. You sound like a lovely owner. My only advice is that I let an obviously ailing guinea and my lovely old cat go on a few days too long just because I didn't want to make that call and I didn't want them to go, but with hindsight it would have been kinder to have let them go earlier.
