a school pet died in our home

good thing was that they never pestered us to look after another one

I bet it survives but I also bet it's a really stressful weekend for you worrying about it!

You sound like me! I killed next doors goldfish 2 years running when they were on holiday! Wonder why they didn't ask me when they went away last week?

we have got Snowy the school hamster for the weekend. I am a bag of nerves yelling ' Don't leave the cage open!' every five mins.
Boys are really excited though.

......and counting the minutes till their return to nursery, eh??!!!!

DoubleBluff Sun 24-Jun-07 18:43:51

13hrs to go. Kids are bored of it already. Another good reason not to have apet!

Good way to find out whether or not you'd have a pet then...atleast you can hand the hamster back!!

at this thread. i looked after the nursery gerbils and one died. they were horrible black greasy things.

Fortunately for me neither my youngest's nursery have pets and nor does my eldest's school!!! Phew.....I've enough animals at home to keep me busy but it must be such a worry to look after someone else's!!

Hamster survived the weekend, but his cage fell apart as we were getting into the car. DS had to return him in his exercise ball, the cage was in 3 pieces.
I can see us ending up with our very own 'snowy' in the near future though!
