Fleas!! Help

I was hoping for some advice, I have four cats inherited them at various points from other family members. I have had 2 of them for aslong as 10 years so I’m not inexperienced but this year it has been a nightmare for fleas.
They have had flea treatments and wear flea collars but this year they haven’t worked and all the cats are getting bitten to death and I am too as they are in the house. I’ve upped the cleaning and hoovering the last two weeks with daily hoovering and floor washing and I’ve washed all the bedding in an attempt to get rid and I’m still getting bitten atleast once a day and the cats are itching like crazy.

I’m at my wits end with it and just can’t seem to get rid of them. Does anyone have any advice or tips with this as I don’t know what else I can do Blush

What flea treatment are you using? I suggest getting them from the vet (advocate/stronghold plus). Indorex is supposed to be good for treating the house

Second pp about indorse household spray and advocate. Also are you disposing of Hoover bag after hoovering as this is important. Fleas can be a nightmare but you will get there eventually.

Indorex. Amazing stuff. And vet flea treatment. OTC flea remedies never work.

Hi i have had a bad flea infestation my dog does not go near other dogs so i am assuming his day visit to the vets helped that out. To cut a long story short first dont use frontline its like water and airfreshener. Both sprays and spot on are rubbish. Advantage is good.
I used a tablet called bravecto for fleas on dog. I was in a pickle i had used the frontine but as it did not work i couldnt reapply for three weeks. The bravecto has negative feed back and scary stories of things happening from side affects. My dilemma was keep flea combing my dog daily for two hours minimum and watch him go bald and suffer the constant itch because i couldnt guarentee i had removed them all. It was a hard choice but i gave the tablet and 24 hrs later he has no live fleas. The ones i have brushed off are dead.
For my house i wasted lots of money on flea sprays over a 4 wk period what a waste. I purchased indorex. Amazing stuff actually does what it says on tin.
Buy fom ebay or amazon as it is a third of price the vets charge. Hoover through all of the house and spray away paying attention to the corners. Once you have sprayed do not hoover for minimum of three days as you will be hoovering up the product.
Put a bowl of water with some dish soap in fill the bowl to the top and place it in a corner beneath a light this attracts fleas and the soap and water kills them in seconds.
I hope you find something in this that works for you
I am so far day 3 flea free but will continue this process for a while yet

Yep indorex for the house and go to the vets for avocat or the other really good stuff - you won’t get decent stuff without ‘a prescription’ and you might have to take the cats to the vets to get weighed. It’s more expensive but it will work whereas nothing I bought worked other than the vet stuff. You can’t do it all at once though or it can be dangerous so you have to do the house then the cats or vice versa.

But yeah get indorex off Amazon where it’s cheaper but I dont think you can buy advocat online.

No advocate is prescription only the vets have to make money?
I would do the cat first so theyre covered then when the fleas jump on them they feed and die then tackle the house. Im no expert on this but over 6 wks of fleas and finally seeing results. Feel like i have flea OCD it has taken up every min of my day have not been able to think about anything other than ridding my pet of these awful little life suckers

Flea collars don't work and can be dangerous.

Decent treatment from vets like advocate and indorex for house. I've just got on top of a flea thing, it's been a hard slog but all my flea traps are empty at long last and no bites Grin

Horrible things fleas.
