canary eggs

so I've taken 2 canaries from my aunt for a dew months while shes away and she's now decided to text me that the female should be laying eggs soon.
The cage at the moment is small and I've ordered a larger cage as they just dont seem to have enough space however do I need to provide a nest for her to lay eggs in?
