Flies and bluebottle eggs in cat food.

I feed Ferrell and stray cats and as they aren't vaccinated I'm concerned about flies and bluebottles laying their eggs in the food I leave out in the evening now that the weather is warm. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I mix dry food in with the wet food. They don't seem to be mad about the dry food, and recently the new is that wet is best.

i would feed wet and dry seperatly so that the wet is eaten as quickly as possible, and then leave dry down for them to pick at over the day if they are hungry.

In the summer, I find it always gets fly strike by the end of the day, so i feed less at a time

Leave them dry out during the day wig.lots of water. At night I feed mine around 7pm when fly activity has died down so safe to give wet.

I also have a routine wig my strays and ferals that they are waiting at 5am every morning to be fed wet.

Contact your local condo get help in tnr (trap, neuter and release). They tend to also flea and worm and give a vac for fiv/felv. Well our branch did when I coordinated it last summer. They will also help wig food etc and winter shelters.
