14 year old cat with broken leg pts or amputation

My cat was hit by a car on Thursday. It was found out she has a broken femur in her hind leg. Due to the age pins were not an option. At the moment she has been given 2 weeks rest to see if it starts to heal if not the only options are either pts or amputation. My question is whether amputation will be worth it bearing in mind her age? As first of all the surgery is risky and I'm not sure if she will adjust well to three legs after. She has had a full bloods and is healthy in every other aspect. Any advice or own stories would be great.

You would be surprised how well a cat can adjust with just having three legs. Is your cat in good health other than the broken leg? Id be tempted to go with surgery if your lil ones health in general is ok. Wishing you the best of luck. My cat smashed all her leg falling and had no other option to be pts. It is a hard time weighing up all the pros and cons. Do what is in you heart and what you think is best for your cat
