This has been bugging me for a while, I have a friend that seems to keep getting rid of pets then getting new ones. The reasons for getting rid all seem legit, 'can't handle house training with a new baby' etc etc then she seems to forget & a few months later get something else!
6-12months ago she got rid of a beautiful little dog for the reason of couldn't deal with a toddler & a dog at the same time, fair enough. But yesterday she went & got a new dog, a collie x lab, which is going to be bigger, messier & more hyper than the one she had before so I know I'm a few months it will be the same 'can't handle it'
It really annoys me that she keeps doing this, I ended up with a cat of hers a while ago because she couldn't deal with the smell or that he kept climbing her curtains (he was a baby, she had had him 2days!!)
No matter how many people tell her she can't keep doing this it doesn't stop her, & I honestly don't know where she gets the money if I'm honest! She doesn't work & hasn't done for 11years! (She has a child this age & hasn't worked since she fell pregnant with them) On roughly the same money I couldn't afford one pet right now never mind how many she's had.
Don't find it very fair atall, it's like she only keeps them for the cuteness factor and as soon as that's gone & they get a little bigger she drops them.
I would absolutely love a pet but know I'm not in any state to look after one, financially or any other way, I have 2 toddlers so wouldn't dream of adding a puppy to the mix just yet!. Looking after 2 goldfish is bad enough for us right now!
Sorry think I just needed a rant.

I'd drop her as well. I had a friend who did similar, have pets and then move on to something else. So at one point they had a rabbit, that went they had guinea pigs, a hamster, then came the bearded dragons and snakes, then the rats. They then replaced a yorkshire terrier with a border collie which predictably didn't last, not least because they never walked the previous dog. On Facebook I see they now have a shih tzu, guinea pigs, a horse and birds for how long though is anyone's guess.
