Guinea pigs owners?

Can they eat bamboo from the garden? Ours (picked up last week) have been happily munching on bamboo leaves but someone just suggested they may be poisonous - help.
PS GPs are called Monty & Jasper & were picked up from rescue place last Sat. They're 6 months old & really sweet (& noisy - one of them 'sings')

Hi there! I'm new! Sorry, I know this was posted ages ago but I thought I'd reply. I help to run a guinea pig rescue and I can tell you that it is probably not a good idea to feed guinea pigs bamboo leaves. Here is a brilliant web site with guinea pig feeding advice.
