... ha eaten a used condom... what do I do? Take him to a vet or let him pass it naturally? Damn damn cat!!! Help!!!

I'd be surprised if he's eaten it, but if you really think so then speak to a vet.
Don't forget to take an amusing photo which you can upload to lolcats.

We had a dog that used to have a thing about eating balloons. Deflated ones obv. They would end up coming out the other end pretty much intact. Would give my
Mum a fright though as she'd always think the dog had some kind if weirdly coloured giant pile. You should probably ring your vet for some advice though!

Liluri, that was not funny or helpful.

Lynnette, Peggotty, he definitely ate it... husband chased him when we heard the sounds of chewing, and he saw him swallowing it :(

Anyway, we called the vet, and I have just returned from emergency services - its 4 AM and am shattered... cat's fine, they tried to make him vomit, but he refused, so they've told me to keep an eye on him and look out for various symptoms. Damn cat!! Its just cost us a fortune...

Lynette, yes I did, I had to :) The vet was so sweet though, told me we were not the only ones this had happened to. He says its way more common that we imagine!! He did allow himself a grin though, when I explained that husband chased the cat when we realised what he was eating... and I guess that image was funny.

Cat's moping around now, so maybe he is feeling poorly. We're going to wait and see, and if he hasn't eaten anything or is throwing up liquid we'll take him to our normal vet on Monday. Idiot cat had to do this on the first long weekend I've had some fun on ;)

Lynette, we didn't... it was properly disposed of in the bathroom wastebasket... damn cat opened the basket and dug it out. Grrrrr...! He's been feeling a bit poorly now, moping around. Felt his tummy earlier, isn't bloated or anything. If he's still mopey tomorrow, its another trip to the vets, and there goes my holiday for the year :(

I was just going to post an update anyway... it showed up in the litterbox, all neatly screwed up. Not that I cleared the stuff, mind, made DH do it. So he's recovered completely and is as bananas as ever!

Lesson learned though - disposal happens in the main garbage can now :)
